Jane it was grey and drizzly here, but quite warm. Then it got really warm this afternoon. I never know what to wear Grin.

Very talented but freaks me out a bit!

Raahh · 24/06/2021 18:11
Grin

I saw that earlier on FB- it is a bit creepy Grin.
Made me wonder if he will be allowed to eat the grass this year- you, know because Covid Grin

JaneJeffer · 24/06/2021 18:15

He not going to be eating grass because he's not going to win. I really don't want him to win. I want him to fuck off.

Raahh · 24/06/2021 18:24

Jane Grin

Don't hold back. Grin

I agree though. I really hope it's going to be like 2016- suddenly the pressure of winning RG hits him, and he loses early. Preferably to someone noone has ever heard of. Then loses everywhere else.

JaneJeffer · 24/06/2021 18:43

Is it wrong that every time I hear someone is injured and can't play at Wimbledon I think why couldn't it have been Djok?

It'll probably be a Djok/Kyrgios final just to punish me for my bad thoughts.

kazzaD66 · 24/06/2021 19:08

Depending on the draw it's going to be a Murray/Evans final, with Dan winning in 4. Andy can be the only person to win 3 consecutive Olympic gold medals Grin

With Thiem now out of Wimbledon, does that mean all the lower seeds shift up one, considering the draw hasn't been made yet?Hmm

Raahh · 24/06/2021 19:14

Jane I know- I keep hoping too. Unfortunately, he seems to be doing ok in doubles in Mallorca- although the matches have been quite close- they could have gone out in their first round.

There's still time for him to eat something dodgy trip over his racquet bag decide he needs to take some time off Grin.

Raahh · 24/06/2021 19:18

kazza I would like to think so- I don't understand the lower end of the seedings- how did Taylor Fritz get seeded (ranked at number 40) when Cilic didn't - and both Bublik and Ramos Vinolas are above Fritz too- and Coric is above Cilic. None are seeded.

Fizzywinegum · 25/06/2021 08:38

A Djok/Kyrgios final Jane? - don’t even joke about such things!

Hopefully Djok will have another double denim wearing personal crisis or maybe his temper will get the better of him (again) and he’ll get defaulted

That’s sad about Thiem - it sounds quite a serious injury Sad - hope he’ll be ok for the US Open

Looking forward to the draw later (not sure what time it’s taking place?)

Fizzywinegum · 25/06/2021 08:39

The draw is at 10am

magimedi · 25/06/2021 08:55

Djerk/Kyrgios & I'd be cheering for Kyrgios.

ScienceSensibility - I love 'Djerk'. Will be using that from now on.

Forecast here at Eastbourne not good for semi finals today. Wet & misty & I wonder if they will get ANY play at all Sad

Fizzywinegum · 25/06/2021 10:17

Simmons Halep has withdrawn now Sad - think I might have a chance at this year’s Wimbledon Grin

Raahh · 25/06/2021 10:24
Sad It was only a matter ofvtime really, she had pulled out of the tournament she was meant to be in this week. Such a shame, I really like Simona.Sad.
kazzaD66 · 25/06/2021 11:21

So, it's all down to you, Jack Draper! No pressure, but we would all be extremely grateful if you could win your opening match Grin

As often seems the case, Dan has a tricky match Hmm Feliciano is a danger on grass and, as much as I like him, I don't want him to beat Dan!

OP posts:
JaneJeffer · 25/06/2021 13:16

Struff/Medvedev will be a tough match. Ugo has got Kyrgios, hope he can beat him.

Raahh · 25/06/2021 13:21

Jane Daniil has been doing well in Mallorca - but the potential for a Struffing is very strong.

I really hope that whatever was ailing Ugo was only minor, and he blasts Kyrgios off court.

JaneJeffer · 25/06/2021 13:25

Apparently he got food poisoning Raahh so hopefully he's feeling better now and raring to go!

Raahh · 25/06/2021 13:28

Jane oh that's good- well, not good Grin obviously- but it's not an injury, so it's something he can recover from, hopefully, in time.

And we wanted Djok to get food poisoning!

Raahh · 25/06/2021 14:33
Hmm

I've just seen that Djok's partner in Mallorca is injured, so they have been forced out of the doubles final.

Why are all the wrong people getting injured?

JaneJeffer · 25/06/2021 14:35

I shouldn't laugh but Grin

kazzaD66 · 25/06/2021 14:38

Raahh the problem is you have to eat food to get food poisoning and, as we all know, Djok lives off cosmic space dust, with a side of smug aura of his own perfection Hmm
Plus a blade of Centre Court grass and, if he's having that, it will be too late!

OP posts:
kazzaD66 · 25/06/2021 14:43

Also, following on from our musings yesterday, I note that everyone has moved up the seedings after Dom's withdrawal. Evans now 22 and Norrie 29.

OP posts:
Raahh · 25/06/2021 14:44

kazza how very silly of me- you are right.

Hugging trees doesn't get you food poisoning, just a nasty case of bark rash. Sad

It was funny before, when they showed him eating the grass, and Claire Balding did comment on the fact he is so careful about what he puts in his body- yet eats the grass that we know the sniffer dogs have pissed on that all those feet have trampled on.

Grin.
