I cant find any existing thread about this from when it was first shown (on BBC?), and just thought as it is currently available on demand I would mention it.
I know when I first watched it I was reallly intrigued, but having now watched however many series there have been of Gentleman Jack, it seems a bit low key. But maybe that is more realistic than Gentleman Jack's swashbuckling presentation.
But if you do watch this adaptation, but dont know what happened in real life, make sure to turn away from the screen at the end when it summarises what happened to AL.

(Have also found Tipping the Velvet is being reshown and I have no memory of every seeing that. Has the contrived writing an Andrew Davies but Keely Hawes (looking about 12) is really good as is Rachael Stirling. Has Hugh Bonneville and Benedict Cumberbatch and many, many familiar faces. Again couldn't find a telly addicts thread on this, and as I am only on episode 1 quite glad not to have any chance of spoilers! drama.uktv.co.uk/shows/tipping-the-velvet/ )
