Thanks

tentosix · 06/06/2021 19:17

when and where is it on?

the80sweregreat · 06/06/2021 19:19

Is it on Netflix?

Bumzoo · 06/06/2021 20:56

It's on an American channel I think, I'm not sure if it's on Netflix.

I googled and it seems to be coming via Prime some time later this year

BlueButtercups · 07/06/2021 00:45

Im watching now.. it's good 🌷

ScreamingMeMe · 07/08/2021 17:55

This is now on Amazon Prime.

Just finished watching it. It sure has some twists and turns Shock

RedRiverShore · 07/08/2021 20:18

Just going to start this, it looks good

jay55 · 08/08/2021 06:37

I'm half way through. Finding it a bit frustrating, want them to push on to the big stuff.

Xyzzzzz · 10/08/2021 08:28

Watching this on prime and I feel the same @jay55

ShallWeStartTheMeeting · 11/08/2021 00:20

Bingeing it right now with my 15 year old DD.
I find it fascinating- talk about twisting tropes.

ShallWeStartTheMeeting · 11/08/2021 00:29

By the way is it me or is Jeanette really unlikeable?

QueenBee52 · 11/08/2021 00:41

It's very well written and the teenage actors are just brilliant 🎉

ShallWeStartTheMeeting · 11/08/2021 00:48

We've just finished episode 5. There are some very powerful moments and I genuinely don't know where it is going to go. Talk about toxic mothers though...

VaguelyInteresting · 11/08/2021 00:49

Just finished it yesterday. Loved it. What do you want to talk about?

ShallWeStartTheMeeting · 11/08/2021 00:58

After 5 episodes MAYBE SPOILERS

really feel for Kate, and can't bear Jeanette. (DD feels the same). I also find Mallory a very stifling friend, the kind who would give you massive grief for going out for a drink with friends without including her.

RedRiverShore · 11/08/2021 07:26

Finished it yesterday, lots of twists and anyone feeling it is dragging a bit in the middle it does get better again as it goes on. Some might be put off this excellent drama thinking it is just for teens, I'm old and found it good.

Xyzzzzz · 11/08/2021 11:58

Whilst I found it slow, I did enjoy the last episode and the ending.

ShallWeStartTheMeeting · 11/08/2021 17:42

I don't find it slow- each episode feels like there are pieces of a jigsaw gradually slotting into place and the bigger picture is slowly taking shape.
I am loving it, and I am an adult! I think even as parents we can still remember and relate to the awkwardness of teenage cliques.

I wish we could talk about it in more details because there are a couple of things that are just slightly bugging me.

QueenBee52 · 11/08/2021 17:52

its great ... I watched it with my teen age daughter..

we thoroughly enjoyed the twists 🎉

That's exactly how I felt about Mallory. She was just a bit too much.

POTENTIAL SPOILER

Wasn't impressed with how the boyfriend pretty much faced no consequences for his actions - he hit Jeanette and she went back to him, and although his friend who was in the car accident with him didn't exactly forgive him, where were the drink driving charges? Unless I missed that bit.

KillingMeDeftly · 11/08/2021 17:57

Also I can remember Jeanette's dad when he was young, playing Jimmy Olson in Lois and Clark!

KillingMeDeftly · 11/08/2021 17:58

The 90s music jarred a bit. I mean, I know why they couldn't use originals, but the constant covers felt weird.

Yes he was awful .. hitting her was appalling and there should have been consequences 🌸

ShallWeStartTheMeeting · 11/08/2021 22:36

There were some original songs, I think the covers were because it would cost too much to use the originals?
I am now on episode 8 and am dying to discuss it more.
