It's back.
Anyone ready for a telling off from Cherish?
Liam's over enthusiasm and Tom's 'Jokes'?

I'm ready for cake. Wish I'd bought some. Might order some for next week.

jay55 · 25/05/2021 20:08

Same.

Though I'm not that keen on Jaffa cakes, so I'm not too hungry yet.

Have had to resort to some ginger nuts found lurking in biscuit tin. I love a jaffa, just as well I haven't got any, packet would be gone in 10 mins.

Madcats · 25/05/2021 20:32

Noooo!

I'd not checked the listings and had resigned myself to Springwatch.

I am sure I just saw Cherish smiling and sounding encouraging. What's happening?!

longwayoff · 25/05/2021 20:46

Phew, tense. Cherish has had a personality transplant, she's been almost human so far.

ineedaholidaynow · 25/05/2021 20:47

I seem to spend most of my time holding my breath when they are moving the showpiece

jay55 · 25/05/2021 20:47

I'm always disappointed when the pros mess up things like ganache.

But then they pull off these giant creations.

It almost makes me want to get married so i can order a giant bizarre centrepiece.

I only realised it was on 10 minutes before it started, don't remember seeing it advertised at all, but that could be because I was watching the jewellery thing until last week.

I'm in awe of all of the chefs, victoria sandwich is about as 'fancy' as I get!

jay55 · 25/05/2021 20:56

Ooo I thought the Bristol ones would go.

I love the cakes and the competition itself but there are too many annoying accents (Benoir, Cherish and Tom) for me.

jay55 · 01/06/2021 20:00

Bumping as it's on tonight.

Checking in...

lettingthedaysgoby · 01/06/2021 20:49

This is fraught! Macaroons everywhere!

jay55 · 01/06/2021 21:41

I did a proper gasp when the one disintegrated on the judges table.

Just discovered that The Bristol Loaf team’s bakery is within walking distance of my parent’s house! Guess I know what I’m doing next time I go to visit!

GlutenFreeGingerCake · 03/06/2021 07:38

I'm only watching this as Julian Plumart is quite close to me in Brighton and I have had their macarons before which are amazing, one of the best sweet things I have ever eaten. I wasn't surprised they won the macarons challenge even though the other centre pieces were possibly better, especially the Zeus and Hades one which didn't get enough credit and the ying and yang one was also beautiful. It was very dramatic when that one disintegrated on the judging table.
I have to agree the judges and presenters are very annoying. Dd who watched it with me thought Benoit's French accent was fake he sounds like Peter Sellers.
The chefs all seem very nice though so good luck to them, but I hope Julian and Elise win.

Mum45678 · 22/06/2021 21:20

Absolutely loving this as I live super close to Prestige and have been a regular customer since they opened a few years ago. They are genuinely as nice and loving as they come across on tv. I’m so pleased they are doing well. If you are in London their bakery garden is an excellent place for a little treat.

jay55 · 23/06/2021 16:57

I felt so sad last night at each eclair that fell from the showstoppers.
As with all the reality competitions at the moment, I really wish they were given enough time to do a great job, they're all so talented. And I want to see the wow stuff.

Anyone watching tonight? I'd like to try all the different Black Forest Gateaux. They all sound delicious.
