Surely they won't let Robert rot in jail though? Luke's confession to Wendy is enough evidence to throw doubt on Robert's conviction.

Did the actor who plays Robert leave to explore new opportunities? He must be so annoyed that covid happened!! At least he gets to spend time with new baby.

I know I'm overthinking what is essentially a TV show that rarely makes sense...

Like meets Stephen. They fall in love and are happy. So much so that Luke is about to introduce Stephen to his mum so obviously saw a future together. Him and Lee have a fight, ends badly. Luke that very day texts Stephen and breaks up with him.
Again that day, Robert hits Lee and he ends up in hospital. Lee dies.
Now rather than getting back with Stephen...or thinking that now his homophobic racist brother is dead and yeah he was his brother and all but Luke is now free to be who he wants to be... Instead Luke decided the best course of action is to get together with his brothers victim who is carrying his child. I think Vic is nice enough, but would you really forget the person you loved (Stephen) and be willing to hide your sexuality to get with her after everything else?? He had no reason to get with Vic. He had no reason to hide his sexuality- his mum seemed fine with it.

I know I said I'm over-thinking it. It's just how the producers keep rewriting back stories like we won't notice. Like Ben goes from being suicidal about Aaron's bullying to wanting "to rip his clothes off". Now Aaron is one of my fave characters but honestly what has he done to warrant such a turnaround got Ben ? And don't get me started on Luke (who I actually think is a lovely lad) being caught catfishing...

The only reason must be that he is with her out of a sense of guilt that his brother raped her and that he may be responsible for the death of said brother but let her brother go to prison for it. I think he said Stephen would have nothing more to do with him after the beating.

If (and it's a big one) Robert is returning then I totally expect Ben not to be the nice guy he seems and Aaron ends up in an abusive relationship where he feels trapped and Robert will be the only one who figures it out because Chas and Paddy are blinkered idiots who will no doubt warn Robert to leave Aaron alone because he's happy now, etc.

When did Wendy put the framed photo of Lee up? That's not nice for Victoria to have to look at when she visits (nice for Max Parker though).

The other thing is Robert could be released but doesn't return to Emmerdale thus driving Aaron to get with Ben.

There is a huge amount of speculation online that Robert is returning!

I do hope so as I loved the Aaron and Robert relationship. They were so good and believable together.

If Robert comes back (which I doubt will happen) hope the writers don't mess them both around, it would be nice to have at least one stable long term relationship without any cheating.
