Oh I hope not, Emma deserves a nice man for once.

lavenderandwisteria · 18/06/2021 18:19

Is the boy on the table at Cheney and Gemma’s house meant to be Joseph?

Gemma is awful: why does she have to shout every single line she delivers?

woodhill · 18/06/2021 18:21

Yes she speaks to Chesney like he's crap. He's trying to work, why would he want to worry about the signing class and what about the other 3 babies and poor Jawseff.

She's horrible

lavenderandwisteria · 18/06/2021 18:26

Even when she’s delivering a line like ‘what do you want for tea?’ She sounds angry!

It’s such awful stereotyping of working class people: they all shout and wear horrible clothes?!

Akire · 18/06/2021 18:29

Just watched what I thought was Fridays hour but they kept saying it was Sunday and Father’s Day. I not say much till after it’s been on air but it plodded on.

Roussette · 18/06/2021 20:20

I thought it was funny when Ches said he'd sorted the quads out upstairs and There. Was. Not. A. Sound Grin

Daytime. 4 Toddlers. Yeah right...

I might watch Sunday in advance because I think Handmaids Tale is starting on Sunday

lavenderandwisteria · 18/06/2021 20:44

I know covid but it’s just implausible.

I mean, don’t they think ahead and consider it might be difficult to have four child actors?

UhtredRagnarson · 18/06/2021 21:02

Ok- which episode am I supposed to watch tonight? Or do I wait until Sunday? I’m lost.

CiaoForNiao · 18/06/2021 21:22

I don't think there is an episode today. Just Sundays. It's all a bit confusing. I've seen them all but not sure which bits were on which day so not sure what I can talk about Grin

UhtredRagnarson · 18/06/2021 21:23

I know, it’s so confusing! Sundays episode is Fridays episode but you could watch it on Monday but you can’t talk about it today, on Friday, because it airs on Sunday. Grin

Akire · 18/06/2021 21:32

Where do they even keep the kids pram? A double is bad enough to keep in small house. Shame can’t even have one set of twins playing in park. By the time we see them they will be 3 and off to school

Akire · 18/06/2021 21:48

It’s also strange that Fizz kids forever with her brother and his 5 kids and she never once had said I have two/four for them for the afternoon or babysit. Even though they live next door.

nildesparandum · 18/06/2021 21:52

Those quads must be doped.I cannot remember their names they are just referred to as ''The Quads''.
Please please scriptwriters and producers get rid of the awful Gemma somehow.Give her a lottery win so her and the boring Chesney can live somewhere else, as far away as possible. Certainly outside of shouting distance.

Roussette · 18/06/2021 21:57

What are you doing to my head?!

Are you saying when it's on Sunday 8-9pm, its a repeat of Friday's? Shock

UhtredRagnarson · 18/06/2021 21:58

I don’t know anymore 🙈😂

woodhill · 18/06/2021 21:58

Yes and she goes on and on about Aled talking crap and it's so tedious. What about the other 3 and poor Jawsef, moaning to Chesney in front of him

Roussette · 18/06/2021 22:00

I'm totally confuzzled 😂

ClairKingston · 18/06/2021 22:00

Invisible children have always been the case in soaps but giving one set of parents FOUR little blighters in one tiny house is just insulting to the viewers as they could not possibly have thought out the future of the storyline. I wonder which of the team of writers came up with the idea and how it was voted a winning way to keep the viewers watching. Well it certainly did that but not in a good way. The programme is being ridiculed all the time now and it was never like that years ago.

Akire · 18/06/2021 22:01

Normally there is 2.5h a week. Instead they put out 3x1hour episodes.

Airing Monday Tuesday and Sunday so some people have watched them when they normally would be on to fill their week. Some people live on air so not seen Sundays yet. To confuse matters more the last hour which should have been today is filmed on Father’s Day so they knew it would be live on Sunday!

Akire · 18/06/2021 22:05

Also will they keep the BSL story line going for the next 10years? Will all the kids be seen signing as they would if they parents and one sibling are so they can communicate?
My guess is Aled will be offered place at special school for the deaf and they all have move to be closer. Or a lottery win of course.

lavenderandwisteria · 19/06/2021 08:12

It isn’t just a covid thing. I remember when Tracey had amy she would often be on camera. But recent soap babies - 2015 onwards - are just non existent. We never saw Oliver until he was in hospital. I forget Sarah has Harry. Bertie used to be shown sometimes.

It means you don’t connect at all with stories involving them. I just didn’t feel any emotion at the Oliver storyline as he wasn’t real. Same with Aled now!

SophieB100 · 19/06/2021 08:14

Leanne of Duty is back then. Deep joy. And gangster Shazza. More joy.

The launch of the cocktails night at the Bistro looked a right knees up, a handful of people. Then the empty Rovers, with pouting Daisy, creepy old bloke and Nina, with a couple of strategically placed awkward looking extras.

Like Nina, don't like drunk Nina...she doesn't play a drunk well at all (watch Nicola Walker do drunk Nina actress). Abbie actress, agree, she is good, I agree she should go on to better things, I think she's better than Suranne Jones. Corey actor is good too.

Am fretting about Peter (again). Is he ok? What about the new jigsaw? Has he completed it? I need to know.

Am watching Classic Corrie also and it is miles better than this. Even with the limited crew and Covid restrictions taken into account. Great characters, fast moving, well written, warmth and humour.

From what I can gather, Sunday' episode is what we should have had yesterday. So not a repeat, just delayed whilst millions watched a crappy game of footie. Hopefully it will be better than the football. Let's just hope Dev doesn't score again! Wink

CiaoForNiao · 19/06/2021 11:12

I actually like the Aled storyline, although agree having invisible quads is ridiculous.

The dilemma of "should we shouldn't we get cochlear implants" is very real. Deafness runs in my family and a relative had her son fitted with CIs. She got a lot of hate from the 'deaf community' as a lot of people see it as rejecting who they are in some way.
Of course if he gets them they could drop the BSL storyline as he may well get enough hearing to attend mainstream school and won't need to learn to sign.

woodhill · 19/06/2021 11:23

Yes, I agree it's a good story and it highlights the struggle with deafness but it's just the fact the others aren't mentioned or seen and Gemma is so rude to Chesney

Where do Bernie and Paul reside, surely not in that tiny house

MyCatEatsPrawnCrackers · 19/06/2021 11:56

Paul shares a flat with Daniel doesn't he?
