Just noticed the old thread was nearly full.

Bingle I don't know how they can't like Valan Sad- it's time Val had some luck.

But today's episode did seem to be setting up what will be the sticking point- Val is 50, and wants to have some fun and travel- and Nathan is just ready to settle into early retirement. Grin.

But -it keeps making me wonder- where's Barry??!It's so long since he's been in it.

(The actor probably needs some money by now!).

Binglebong · 20/05/2021 17:34

Time for a BBB crusade - Bring Back Barry!

If they do split I hope it is done nicely. I suspect she will persuade him to do luxury travel as a compromise. I just hope it doesn't mean Val leaving - holidays I can accept but not gone for good!

Gladimnotcampinginthisweather · 20/05/2021 17:56

I hope Barry has met someone else by now and is happily settled in Selly Oak.

Willowkins · 20/05/2021 20:16

So what I am seeing is Val's love life is blooming
(yay) while Karen's is going down the toilet (boo). Don't the writers know we need some solid joy in our lives at the moment?
Bingle watch the trees - if they suddenly blossom we know they've listened to us.

Well, it's been a busy week, but I was at home doing lots of admin jobs today so I binge watched the last three episodes while I sorted all my emails etc.

A whole week of reasonably good episodes .

I don't like the way Rob is behaving either but good acting from the pair of them and the storyline could be interesting. I wondered if he perhaps has a brain tumour or similar. Hopefully not just a mid life crisis / affair.

I LOVE Nathan and Val together, what a sweet couple. Hope they are in it for the long run.

Good acting from Sid too, both when dealing with being propositioned by the only patient any of them saw all week and with his friend's death.

I have realised that one reason I have been enjoying it more recently is that we haven't seen much of Ruhma.

OP posts:
Raahh · 21/05/2021 20:04

Everso yes, the lack of Ruhma makes all the difference Grin.

smallandimperfectlyformed · 21/05/2021 20:43

I have nothing against the actress who plays Rhuma, it's the character herself I am not keen on. She's a bit better than she used to be but she really got on my nerves when she was helping the illegal immigrants and acted like she was Mother Teresa and got the other staff involved! I really enjoyed the storylines this week, especially the superhero one (I like the odd ones best I think!)

EversoDelighted · 21/05/2021 20:47

I agree, I think the actress that plays Ruhma is great, it's just the character who is annoying. You get the occasional episode when she's good, professional and compassionate but more often she's annoying, Mother Theresa is a good description!

OP posts:
Binglebong · 21/05/2021 21:43

To be fair Rhuma was good with Sid. Good to finally see some of her less annoying characteristics.

Raahh · 22/05/2021 09:04

Ruhma was good with Sid- but sometimes it feels like we go through periods of just too much Ruhma!

TDogsInHats · 23/05/2021 14:58

Hello 👋
Why was Nathan a bit sharp with Val when she asked what about your mum (in the context of Nath saying he'd enjoyed camping with his dad)

TDogsInHats · 23/05/2021 14:59

Sorry the above post is a bit abrupt, did a huge long post and it blooming automatically disappeared and took me back to page 1

TDogsInHats · 23/05/2021 15:00

I rather liked Bear's shirt, thought it suited him. Although it did clash with his trousers.

TDogsInHats · 23/05/2021 15:01

Wonder what Rob situation is. Their acting really conveys the married couple bickering so well.

EversoDelighted · 23/05/2021 15:09

I've forgotten already, but maybe to do with the metal box in the lake (I missed a few episodes when Val was tracking Nathan down). Did his mother give him up for adoption?

OP posts:
Gladimnotcampinginthisweather · 23/05/2021 15:52

His Dad would be his adoptive Dad, so I assumed they were talking about his adoptive mother not his birth mother.
I expect it will come out eventually (or not, because this is Doctors).

TDogsInHats · 23/05/2021 17:09

Glad yes I agree with you, I meant his adoptive mother. Wonder if we will get to the bottom of it?

Raahh · 24/05/2021 13:47

Emma's office seems very different.

What is going on here? DV?

Binglebong · 24/05/2021 13:48

Where do I know this woman from!?

Raahh · 24/05/2021 13:49

Over sharing a bit, this woman.

Raahh · 24/05/2021 13:49

Bingle I think she was in Eastenders.

Raahh · 24/05/2021 13:51

Why doesn't she just tell him she's at the doctors?

Raahh · 24/05/2021 13:53

And it will probably take months to get the therapy.

And she will still not sleep in the meantime.

Raahh · 24/05/2021 13:54

Oh, I love a bit of Satie.

And now we have flashbacks?

Oh the beginning was also a flashback.

I'm confused Confused

Binglebong · 24/05/2021 13:54

Thanks.
