I watched in one go.

It was very sweet, unchallenging telly. I love Rose Matafeo and I adored her character in this, she's very watchable.

I'm loving seeing more TV written by women.

However, I was disappointed that the male lead was presented as a decent guy, but then several episodes in acted like a total arse and this wasn't addressed! I was rooting for them to get together till that point, after which I was confused that Rose's character didn't just tell him to F.O.

I also didn't much like any of the other characters tbh!

I know I'm a bit late to the party, but for brilliant writing by another young female writer and comic, have you seen This Way Up by Aisling Bee. www.channel4.com/programmes/this-way-up

I've only just discovered it and I thought it was absolutely brilliant. A new series is coming out soon I think. It touches on more serious issues than Starstruck. I loved everything about it but particularly that the supporting characters have a lot of depth, they're not cardboard cut outs - it has a lot of humanity.

I know what you mean. It felt quite forced IMO- the typical rom-com trope of adding a silly conflict situation to add drama to the story.
Still liked them together though... Blush

I liked it but wasn't the story pretty much Notting Hill?

thefemaleJoshLyman · 08/05/2021 21:41

I loved it! Such a feel good quirky show. Loved the characters and the ending was perfect.

I loved it. So happy there’s going to be a second series

WingBingo · 09/05/2021 09:15

I picked up on the Notting Hill similarities too.

Loves the series, I also binged it.

Apparently they commissioned the second series before the first one even aired.
I hope Minnie Driver comes back- her cameo was superb.
