It was very sweet, unchallenging telly. I love Rose Matafeo and I adored her character in this, she's very watchable.
I'm loving seeing more TV written by women.
However, I was disappointed that the male lead was presented as a decent guy, but then several episodes in acted like a total arse and this wasn't addressed! I was rooting for them to get together till that point, after which I was confused that Rose's character didn't just tell him to F.O.
I also didn't much like any of the other characters tbh!
I know I'm a bit late to the party, but for brilliant writing by another young female writer and comic, have you seen This Way Up by Aisling Bee. www.channel4.com/programmes/this-way-up
I've only just discovered it and I thought it was absolutely brilliant. A new series is coming out soon I think. It touches on more serious issues than Starstruck. I loved everything about it but particularly that the supporting characters have a lot of depth, they're not cardboard cut outs - it has a lot of humanity.
