Johnny Vegas - Carry On Glamping

Did anyone catch this last night? Couldn't see a thread for it. I've always liked Johnny Vegas, so interested to see what he does with this new venture.

I felt a bit sorry for him towards the end with his interview with his mum, seemed he's always regretted not following his artistic dreams and this gives him a chance to try.

It was quite a good watch

Just binge watching the rest of the series!

I only caught a bit of it at the end where they were inspecting that old Malta bus. Looked quite good and I do like Johnny so I think I’ll watch it next week.

Glad this thread is here as I binge watched this last night and was thinking of starting a thread myself. I don't usually seek JV's TV persona out, although I normally quite enjoy him if he turns up on something I watch (Taskmaster).

The glamping project I enjoyed and very much wanted him to succeed. I really felt for him when the accident prone Patricia had her second notable mishap.

Might take a trip there at some point.

I love Johnny Vegas.

A friend of mine met him briefly in a hotel bar many years ago and said he was as lovely as you'd expect: funny and friendly, but not remotely sleazy or over-familiar (she's very pretty and used to random blokes trying to chat her up).

I'd like to think he hasn't changed a bit!

DD worked on a programme with him a few months ago, and said he was lovely, and just so funny.

covetingthepreciousthings · 07/05/2021 18:05

Oh I'm so glad people are saying they know people who have met him and he's lovely.

I finished it last night. I nearly didn't watch it because I'm not into glamping but it was an unexpectedly heartwarming programme that I thoroughly enjoyed.

JV is such a sweet guy. What he did for Bev, giving her the camper, was just wonderful. What a lovely friendship they have.

He's had a few rubbish years by the sounds of it. I hope he carries on doing what he loves and finds peace.

I sat five seats away from him in a tube train once, but unfortunately that doesn’t qualify me to comment on his personality. He is on my close encounters list though. He comes between Maggie Smith and Alan Rickman.

I binge watched them all at the weekend. Loved it. Like johhny even more now, what a caring, generous humble man

Samcro · 11/05/2021 09:37

I love him, would recommend his autobiography he had such an interesting upbringing which you would never expect! Love how he bought a van from Malta after a few drinks Grin

Thanks for the recommendation Humbug - I'll see if I can get hold of this.
