Do I have to watch Line of duty series 1-5 before series 6?

I'm watching the most recent series after bingeing the first ones in lock down last year and I'm still not sure what's going on so it's a good job you'll start at the beginning

This. We've watched them all and I still struggled watching this series, there were so many back references (from years ago) that I struggled to keep track or care.

But the early series are great, maybe it's best to watch them all in 1 go as it will all be fresh in your head.

I’d say stop at the end of series 3.

It's very confusing either way but series 2/3/4 good and then it goes crazy

Oh you’ve missed so much. Much better series, particularly 1-3 to be watched. 6 isn’t Line of Duty, IMO.

Absolutely. Such a shame to have watched only the worst of it, and missed the greatness of Nige, Dot and Lyndsey’s fringe.

Seies 2 is the best IMO , there's a lot happening in the first episode .

I didn't get Series 1 but when I went back and re watched a load clicked into place .

Up until series 5 I would have said no. There was an individual story line each series but with an overarching too. However, now I’ve seen series 6 I would say yes, you do need the background for this series to makes sense.
