Not sure how old this is, but have been watching episodes as so much else has been disappointing.

Like the historical bits (not sure how accurate) and amazing to see so many extras!

But I dont quite get the main character. Is he a sort of Dixon of Dock Green who due to circumstances got involved in the lifes and families of people who he wouldn't normallly have anything to do with. Or is he just a bit slow witted. Or always expecting disappointment.

Did anyone watch it at the time? And if so what were your impressions (if you can remember!)?

Thanks

(Have not put in any plot details in case there is someone who hasn't seen it and wants to give it a go www.itv.com/hub/the-suspicions-of-mr-whicher/1a9399)

I didn't realise there was more than two episodes! I thought it was just the Rhode hill house sorry and the one about the missing woman and baby.

Yes I only remember the first one, and was really confused by the plot so didn't really think about the character of the main character.

Or maybe he is just meant to reflect that in Victorian times people didn't rush around emoting, or virtue signalling, they just got on with the job!
