Me and DH both really enjoyed it.

Ehhhh...It's alright. Watchable but fell far short of anticipation for me.

I thought it was hilariously bad. Poldark Man looked like he was permanently incredulous at the lines he had to say.

I'm watching this and really enjoying it, love the scenery and costumes

Funny there is a real split in opinions here.
It led me to research a lot of Leonardo's works and went down the rabbit hole of reading about the last supper then to Judas betraying him etc etc. Didn't really have a clue before.

I think Aidan turner did a fine job, artists can be weird! Actually I kinda felt like they were trying to hint he had Asperger's or something

And I was also interested in the machines he made like the map making one! Clever.

Oh gosh it's trash. I was really looking forward to it but it's utterly lame, what a disappointment. Medici is a bit better.

Actually it has one redeeming feature, no constant sex scenes and Leo's 'girlfriend' (well he's gay but anyway) the woman who loves him is quite feisty, so that's good too. I just don't understand why the script is so incredibly naff, was it that hard to make it just a bit less dumb?

Ok it was a slightly naff script. Bit you know what I found myself tearing up and the two bring separated at the end and I think it was more emotional because they hadn't been shagging all the way through.

Ach it's easy watching and interesting. Script could have been better, I concede!

I gave it another go and watched the episode where he and his boys
work on the Last Supper. It's getting a bit better actually now that his girlfriend isn't featuring so heavily and it focuses a bit more on his work. I think what grates is that all the characters seem so shallow including Leonardo, which demystifies the whole Leonardo the genius inventor artist thing. Anyway, it was watchable so

Yes maybe the first few episodes are crap but watch it all, it's only like 8 episodes or something?! It's easy watching

I know @Horehound! Episode 5 & 6 are definitely better. I really want to visit Italy now. Glad I stuck with it.

Desperate Romantics with Aidan Turner as Dante Gabriel Rossetti is really good , it’s a few years old now.

Yes it's deffo a great Italian holiday sales pitch hehe.
