Mother of God can someone PLEASE explain episode 6 to me?!

I've watched it three times & I still don't get it!

I don't understand what Jo was up to, why did she create/attend the decoy robbery at the beginning, what I mean is, why did she try to delay the arrest of Carl Banks? I'm so confused why the whole interview... for the sake of the wee donkey someone please help my very simple mind?!

God I will be annoyed if James Nesbitt is H he gets every blinking where.

I didn't understand why Kate didn't just say the truth, that she killed Karl Pilkington in self defence after he pulled a gun on her.

I would love to see Karl Pilkington in LOD, just think of the moanings. The interview scenes would be very dead pan.

Kate would have been suspended from duty pending an investigation - normal procedure - if she'd said she killed Ryan.

They won’t do a flashback scene. It would be really jarring as totally against style of the program

Steve and Kate are totally freaked out regarding who to trust, can’t blame them. What with Steve finding out Ted had told Lee Banks about Corbett being undercover leading to his murder (which he told Kate about in tears) and then suddenly Carmichael taking over (as Kate realised the moment before Ryan and Jo turned up, and that surveillance to protect her had also been called off), it’s no wonder she ran. She and Steve clearly had their own protocol set up for when one of them is in trouble hence her getting his car, but they had no idea their cars were being tracked. It’s all there but it’s fast moving and not being spelt out especially by not showing every key moment.

But where was Kate hoping to go to in the car?

Kate wanted Jo to talk freely to her instead of giving a no comment interview because no one can be trusted. I'm guessing Steve may have told Kate what Jimmy Lakewell told him in the van when they were ambushed.

I haven’t seen James Nesbitt other than a photo ID of him, did I blink?!!
I don’t think Ted did tell Lee Banks about John Corbett, I can’t quite remember how they worked out (gah, now I’ll have to read watch series 5 too 😂) he was undercover but it wasn’t from Hastings.
I would agree that Kate and Steve have their own way of letting eachother know when they are in trouble and have access to each others cars.

Thank you! I thought that was obvious but didn’t know why Kate etc didn’t piece together their surname connection?? I’ve just started watching all of series 6 again (having spent the past 2 weeks watching 1-4 again!!!). I feel like I should be able to go on mastermind with line of duty being my specialist subject but I’d probably embarrass myself and get just 1 point!!

They did though. Steve even went to see Lee Banks in prison and talked to him about the Gail Vella murder including the fact that Carl was his brother.

It was from Ted. He visited Lee banks in prison in series 5 and said there was a rat. Lisa and/or John set up the meeting in the shopping centre with H and AC 12 arrived. It was how Lisa knew John was the rat and then he was deaded.

When Kate and Jo were in the underground car park there was a camera shot from the distance, it peeked around a concrete post, and it made me assume that someone was watching them.

Probably wasn’t Kate that shot Pilkington but a sniper from OCG

As it was the OCG that ordered Jo to get rid of her and the ballistics show Ryan was shot with bullets from Kate's Glock that's highly unlikely. If there'd been a sniper, why was Ryan even there and why is Kate still alive?

And how quickly he identified 2 bodies decomposed to the point of flies........

He has bushy eyebrows but they are not Nesbitt's eyebrows. I re-watched most of the episode. You're reading things into it that aren't there.

I don’t think Thurwell is the Spanish policeman. I don’t think Thurwell was ever meant to be a big part, just another possiblr H that leads nowhere and it was an in joke to use James Nesbits photo between James and Jed, it’s certainly got people talking.

They did a flashback in S2 with Lindsay Denton when we say what really happened in the ambush, so they might do it again

I always thought, somehow, it would come out that it wasn’t Hastings, maybe Lisa was a ‘rat’ too?? To be fair, my head is spinning with trying to keep up with it all!
