Just finished watching The Casual Vacancy and really enjoyed it. It reminded me of a grittier Last Tango in Halifax, poking fun at the snobby pretentiousness of the middle-classes. They both share a kind of comedy-of-manners style, a satire against the backdrop of social issues within an idyllic setting. Like Downton but contemporary.
I don't know the right term for it but is there anything out there with a similar kind of vibe?
