The Detectives: Fighting Organised Crime

This is on BBC, there are apparently 5 episodes, 2 have aired but nothing since the 30th of March. I thought it was D of E disruption related but now I’m not so sure. Really enjoyed the 1st 2 episodes. Anyone know when it is back?

Pretty sure I read 3rd May somewhere but I may have imagined that. Was definitely May though.

I have just watched episode one of this and am flabbergasted that the very tall suspect was allowed to verbally intimidate and physically threaten all the staff (who were shorter than him lol) in an open area outside the interview rooms. Why wasn't he at least handcuffed to reduce the risks to them all?
It showed in front of him, the female DS using her mobile to request a large policeman to stand outside the interview room in case he attacked her...why not just handcuff him?
She then walked into the interview room ahead of him...ridiculously risky surely?
Then the camera angle of the interview made it look like he was practically sitting on the knee of his female legal adviser...it all seemed really unprofessional and unnecessary and a huge waste of time.
The sentences eventually handed down were refreshingly long though.
Loved it when the second even more violent guy asked to phone his Mum after he had been charged!

It was brilliant. Really looking forward to the next episodes. Hope they're back soon.

The lack of handcuffs and the intimacy with the solicitor was odd.

Has anyone seen The Detectives - Murder on the Streets? By bbc2 and available on Prime.

I'm going to give it a try (looking for something to fill the Line of Duty-shaped hole in my life.

Just looked for that on Prime but couldn’t find it.

I’m a bit obsessed with these kind of ‘real life police procedurals’ at the moment so all recommendations for similar shows gratefully received. There’s a couple more on iPlayer which are in this vein (one on forensics and a couple from Scotland about detectives and following a murder trial).
