How many series of the Sopranos were there?

It was one of DH's favourite things ever, and I'd like to buy him the series on DVD. (We have series 1 & 2 on video, but none of the others).

There is a box set of series 1-7, but I thought there were 8 series altogether? If I'm going to buy a boxed set I'd rather have all of the series, not then have to buy one separate one.

So - 7 or 8 series?

Now I'm confused, I thought there were 6 series!

Is this the whole thing then? As it's not being released until 19 November I am assuming it is, but just need to be very sure!

Have a look on the HBO website, it says 6 series, 'Made in America' was the final final episode
