I watched it, thought it was great. What a life she's had.

Brilliant, isn't it. That amazing footage of her going wild as an Ikette Shock Grin
As well as the charisma and the stunning voice, my main impression was what a grafter. What a work ethic.

Thanks for coming on and saying that ! Yes, totally agree she’s a role model but we didn’t realise at the time, appearing on game shows, cabaret in Vegas, anything to make ends meet and support her children, such a strong, incredibly beautiful and talented woman, i welled up at the end when she went to the premiere of the musical and was also really touched about how she has finally found love with her husband, who genuinely adores her. I think that came across when he said he still feels a thrill being with her, you could tell in his eyes, so glad she has had a happy ending 🙂 also doesn’t she talk fast !! She’s completely adorable and I’m of that age I can remember her in the 80’s (my dad was smitten with her ❤️) ‘Team Tina’ ❤️❤️ Very sad to see that the son son had died - there was a dedication at the end. Not sure if that was her son or one of Ikes from his previous marriage

She and her husband are just adorable! I love the fact that she got another chance at happiness at a relatively late age.
The son who died was Craig, her son with I think another musician, not Ike.

One of the best rock documentaries I've seen. Poor Tina looked so sad and lonely in the early years.

How did they get that eerie footage of Ike and Tina's old house, now abandoned and run down? Does it still exist?

Also, they didn't mention her son's death, maybe she didn't want to talk about it.

There is also a YouTube video of a couple of fans visiting during renovations and the builders let them take memorabilia ...apparently the new owner that bought the house from Ike only changed the red sofa covers....and left everything as it was....and the film ‘what’s love got to do with it was actually filmed in the house.
Interesting ...that house is absolutely gorgeous now

Thanks for that, I was thinking how similar the house was to the one in the film with Angela Bassett.

@dayswithaY

You’re welcome, 😀 it’s nice to chat with a curious person !

Lovely to see that house loved again.....did you notice they’d retained some of the ‘mid century’ features like the ‘crazy’ paved walls and that beautiful carved front door with the metal shaped arms as handles, it’s good to see that it wasn’t entirely stripped of its heritage, built in the 50’s I believe

I've just finished watching the documentary. I thought it was excellent, Tina Turner is a true inspiration! As a child in the 80s, you always heard her music, saw her dancing but I had no idea really how old she was at the time, around the same age as I am now! or the depths of what she'd been through. She totally changed her life around, never gave up, found love and remained kind throughout - what a woman and what a talent :) :)
