In the end I came to the conclusion they must have shot it ages agob(possibly at the same time as the last series?) and delayed the episodes till now

The older couple - he had a yacht, she liked make up illustrated that up indeed you may well be too old to find love. The bloke still had that air of entitled male ( wasn’t nice to his first wife, wanted a woman who took care of her looks). The woman had really set ideas and seemed to want something to stop her being alone than meeting someone she fancied.

The couple that bought each homemade gifts were such a match though!

I think the whole ‘First Dates’ franchise has gone to hell in a handcart.

They seem to be really dredging the sea bed for participants now, most of whom just want to be on telly!

The early Series were so much more hopeful, charming and real. I have sadly deleted this from my series planner...

I found the Teen one as awkward as fuck, unbearable to watch.

Yes. I'm reminded of Don't Tell the Bride, which was a great show at first but descended into farce when it started featuring wannabes who had to have some sort of tragic back story and then dream up the most ridiculous wedding scenario in order to get the money/be on telly.

Oh yes, it is exactly like ‘Don’t Tell The Bride’.

Good spot! That started out as such a gentle, sweet programme with people who hadn’t got much money, and with grooms trying their best to do a good job for the bride.

Now it’s just LADS rinsing as much as they can for the stag do or arranging a trapeze wedding whilst wearing Game of Thrones costumes. Half the time I think they must be actors.
