Line of duty for the action one. Definitely not gentle! It's on iplayer from the beginning

Queen's gambit for the gentle option

Death in Paradise, McDonald and Dobbs for the gentle (never mind the bodies). For the latter Mystery Road on BBC I player is excellent and very different

Miss Fisher’s murder mysteries for the gentle one

The Detectorists (will make you feel peacefully benevolent towards mankind)

The Americans (on Amazon prime - will make you faintly nervous about any parked car or telephone)

Future man is a bit of both.

Action but stupid and easy watching. Quite funny depending on your taste.

If you like dark comedy thrillers with a bit of a mystery, try The Flight Attendant. I’m watching it and love it.

Gentle - queens gambit, Derry girls, modern family

Action there’s so many - line of duty, house of cards (not exactly action), how to get away with murder, ozark

Gentle - The Marvellous Mrs Maisel
