MaryAnnSingleton · 08/11/2007 17:01

Saw Scum at cinema when I was much younger - very shocking and violent and upsetting. I'd watch Waterloo Road instead !

Lazycow · 08/11/2007 17:03

I think the channel 4 'Mummy diaries' programme is on tonight, though that may be too sad for you.

ShinyHappyRocketsGoingBANG · 08/11/2007 17:03

Yes, Californication on Channel 5 at 10pm. I started watching it because I luuurve David Duchovny.. .but it's a million times better than I hoped! Fox Mulder he aint!!! It's hilarous, and you get to see his bare arse quite often too.. which is a bonus!

LazyLinePainterJane · 08/11/2007 17:08

well "Thursdays are dull as dishwater funny" on the BBC.

mixedmama · 08/11/2007 17:10

Ahh yes forgot about Waterloo road.... can someone tell me why the boy who was essentially responsible for Izzys death is working in the canteen?

What is the mummy diaries and why is it sad?? I am actually 32 weeks preg so i find a ridiculous amount of stuff sad.

Mummy diaries is a documentary I think about 5 familes where the mothers are terminally ill and they are writing diaries in the time they have left for their children.

Told you it might be too sad. I'm going to watch though.

seb1 · 08/11/2007 17:15

Muumy Diaries is the story of five (I think) Mums with terminal cancer and them preparing their children for what is to come.

MaryAnnSingleton · 08/11/2007 17:16

That sounds like something I'd watch and dh would sit quietly putting up with it - but it'd make me sad as my brother died of cancer when he was 10 which is same age as ds is now and I start to think gloomy thoughts, which is obviously not good.

mixedmama · 08/11/2007 17:16

I just read about it.... that will have me bawling. I dont think I could watch. How brave.

OP posts:
MaryAnnSingleton · 08/11/2007 17:16

ugh, I've misunderstood - the mother's are dying, not the children, which is just as sad making...

southeastastra · 08/11/2007 17:18

maryann

MaryAnnSingleton · 08/11/2007 17:19

thank you southeastastra

southeastastra · 08/11/2007 17:49

i wish i could say something more maryann, but i'm not that great with words. today has been quite sad on mumsnet.

MaryAnnSingleton · 08/11/2007 17:55

no, don't worry southeast - my brother died many years ago when I was 13, but I do think of him more as ds is at the same age as he was and they look a little alike. I can't think how my parents got through it - I think I buried my feelings at the time and it's come out in later life. Bu this is hijacking the tv thread !

NAB3littlemonkeys · 08/11/2007 17:56

Thursdays used to be the best night for TV, now it is the worse. I miss A&E. Probably watch another episode of 24.

southeastastra · 08/11/2007 17:59
