Do you need a faster internet speed with a streaming stick?

Thinking of getting a Roku or Fire stick. Does anyone have one? Do you need to get faster internet to make them work well?

I think it depends whether you watch in SD, HD or 4K, with Netflix there is option to watch in SD if your internet is slower, I watch the SD Netflix as it is cheaper. Probably need a minimum of about 3-5 Mbps to stream SD but about minimum 25Mbps for 4K
