Greys anatomy 17 uk

It's been confirmed to start on the 7th of April!

Krista Vernoff has said the further of greys is up in the air so the finale will be made so it can be used as a season or series finale.
I've not saw the reason for this, maybe it's not been renewed yet?

Great news. However, during lockdown I’ve been watching Greys again from season 1 and I much prefer the earlier days with Izzie, George, Lexie etc. I’m on season 6 at the moment. It has made me realise that in the current series there are more characters that I dislike than I actually like! So if it does turn out to be the last season then I’ll be ok with that.

Anyone else hate it when they do the cross over episodes? I have no interest in the characters from the Fire station or Private Practice. If they do it to get me to watch the other programme then I’m afraid it doesn’t work on me!!

I completely agree with you!
I feel like I need to continue to the end but it's nothing compared to what it used to be.

I hate the crossovers because I don't watch the other shows. The point is to get us to watch them which I think is a bit poor that you have to watch them or you miss out on greys.

I hate the crossovers! I’m watching at US pace which is half way through season 7 and for one episode half of the storyline is on Station 19. I ended up watching s19 but just the section with the Grey’s characters.

I would like one more season after this one (please) just as I think this season is likely to be shorter than usual due to Covid. Fingers crossed!

Well if it is a shorter season then I don't want the ending rushed cos it will end up shit and after all these years of investment it needs to end well Grin

Ah that makes sense...... I watched GA S17e07 earlier today and was racking my brains back to e06 (pre Christmas) to figure out if I’d missed/forgotten something major happen. I obviously didn’t and I needed to have watched Station 19 (which I don’t!) All becomes clear. Season 17’s been rubbish anyway, and I’m a die hard GA fan

I'm a die hard fan too and was so annoyed at having to watch station 19.

I only know that it would be confusing as I am in a Facebook group that posts links for episodes 24 hours after it has aired in the U.S. and it posted the link for Station 19 and said it had to be watched first.

So many people will be confused just like you if they sit down to the new episode without any warning.

I agree that Grey's seems to have lost it's way recently and may be due to Shonda no longer writing for the last few years. I can't stop watching though as I have loved this show for 15 years since the first episode.

I think that happened last season as well, I started watching an episode and had no idea what was going on so had to find the s19 episode to catch up.
I'm just not intrigued or interested in the s19 characters when I'm watching the crossovers.

I think greys has had its day but I'm committed until the end now!

This whole season has left me cold but the latest episode...right in the feels.

Also agree on crossovers. Don't care one bit about those characters!

I think quite possibly this may be the last season of Grey's due to extended contract negotiations that are usually sorted by now.

You really need to watch Station 19 first or it will be a bit jarring. Thankfully the crossover is more centred with the Grey's storyline than Station 19 IYSWIM. Too be honest I fast forwarded past the parts that didn't include Grey's characters a lot.

I’ve wTched it since the start but it’s gotta end surely?
We actually fell about 30 episodes behind and really slogged through them to get up to date as our sky box was full and it was time to watch them or lose them. What they did with Alex was unforgivable And felt like final nail for me

I agree about Alex, it just didn't make sense, he wouldn't have done that.

It definitely needs to end now I think. I will maybe go back and watch it from the beginning again soon

I’m currently rewatching, I’m up to season 6 where George has just died Sad With the storyline of Izzie and Alex it does make sense that he’d go back to her, but with everything that has passed since with his relationship with Jo, I just can’t see how he’d turn his back on Jo. I’m glad they didn’t kill him off but his character shouldn’t have committed to Jo to then suddenly changed his mind, which makes me think they had to come up with an exit storyline sharpish. With George’s exit, with the knowledge now that he was gonna die, I could see how in many episodes before they were subtly building to him going. With Alex there was none of this really.

Apparently the actor who played Alex refused to come back so they had to write him out without him being there. Their choices were kill him off or try to give him a happy ending off screen. The story did really piss me off as it made no sense but understand it wasn’t the writers’ choice!

@hopelessatthinkingupusernames. Ah, I didn’t know that. That makes sense then to use the letters to the main characters etc. But it was still poor really considering how important he was in most of the storylines over the years. Do we know why he refused to return?

Probably not a popular opinion but I think they should of killed him off 😂

He went on such a journey to become a better person and a good husband to Jo, that for him to just leave and tell her by letter was a slap in the face.
They must of known they could only go on for a few more season so they should of just killed him off.

I suppose there’s only so many characters they can kill off!! I would have been happier maybe with him getting a dream job with Cristina in Switzerland and giving Jo the choice to stay or go with him. Then she could stay after lots of soul searching.

I think anything would of been better than what they done, we really watched him grow and it was just thrown away! Maybe I'm too invested 😂
Even if he just stayed as chief at the other hospital and wasn't on screen anymore but Jo and Meredith could mention him on occasion.
