Crap acting 🥴

Beebumble2 · 08/03/2021 17:48

I was looking forward to watching it, as previous ones were good. It all seemed a bit pointless.

absolutetelynotfabulous · 08/03/2021 20:07

Is Jimmy McGovern still writing them or is it other writers as well now?

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/03/2021 14:09

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/03/2021 14:28

I liked 2

Obv the younger daughter wasn’t happy there was an elder daughter

Tho their dad left her mum and maya to be with here

So her her dad wast the saint she thought

They kinda made up

Hollie wrote her a note. She put both pics of families in the funeral sheet and said he was dad to both of them

Maya went to the funeral

Then they painted over his wall

I had a tear at the end tbh

I've really really enjoyed all the other series and was so looking forward to this.
But these ones are a bit flat. Like nothing is going on in them. It's just a lot of monologues and the acting is quite poor.
In today's one they seemed to have reunited the cast of Brookside.
Also have these been filmed in Lockdown as there does not seem to be much interaction?

It's such a shame because past episodes have been amazing.

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/03/2021 21:30

@itwillallbeokay. Haven’t seen 4 yet

SchadenfreudePersonified · 12/03/2021 18:28

Thanks for the heads-up.

I loved this programme.

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/03/2021 21:47

I still need to watch 4&5

5 when hearing impaired Rosie is told her deafness is getting worse she is desperate to learn sign lanaguage but facing opposition from husband Nathan

Haven’t seen but he sounds a wanker if not supporting his wife

I've watched all but one of this series. I agree that some of the acting in the Wedding Day one was a bit dodgy.
I liked Hungry to Learn and More than Words. I noticed the school kids were socially distanced in class in Hungry to Learn although Covid didn't feature in it. I recognised the deaf actress Sophie Stone in More than Words from the series Marchlands, which I loved. She's RADA trained so a good actress. Funny to see Bev from Brookside appear in the Hungry to Learn episode. Not seen Get Fit or try lying yet but will watch it

PrimulaAuricula · 14/03/2021 19:18

Enjoyed the Les Dennis one. He was good. Some familiar faces from Brookside and Phoenix Nights

midsomermurderess · 14/03/2021 19:56

I thought the first one, the wedding day, was embarrassingly trite, and forgive me, but the usual Liverpool sentimentality. I really disliked it and haven't felt inclined to watch any of the others.

PrimulaAuricula · 15/03/2021 11:34

I agree that one wasn't great, but the others were up to the usual standard
