Apologies if there’s already a thread. I searched but couldn’t find one.

Anybody watching the new Bryan Cranston show on Sky?

I’ve watched the first one and it was good but also made me sick to my stomach really anxious and I can’t face watching another yet, It’s hard to have sympathy. It seems predictable as you can see where it’s going in a ‘oh what a tangled web...’. kind of way.

Also the crime boss Jimmy Baxter is played by the actor who played Arnold Rothstein on Boardwalk Empire.

OH is watching it now. The bits I've caught are a bit gory for me. I'm not keen on blood!

DarkDarkNight · 02/03/2021 22:01

Yes, very gory Sad. All episodes are available but I think I’ll pace myself with this one.

I ended up watching the first episode. It was good but quite stressful viewing! Watching second episode now but not sure I've got the stamina for it.

nottoday3000 · 04/03/2021 21:41

Watched the lot really good!

Litthefirealready · 06/03/2021 22:48

I’m watching the second episode now and I’m so stressed. I don’t know if I can keep on watching.

I was really looking forward to it but I’m squirming in my seat!

susiella · 07/03/2021 10:31

It's excellent. Keep watching. Very stressful viewing though, agreed. I'm watching one episode per night. That's quite enough

Meltinthemiddle · 07/03/2021 12:45

Ive just watched episode 1 very gory and tense!!

VivaLeBeaver · 07/03/2021 12:47

Is there any way of watching this if you don’t have Sky? Only got virgin and I don’t think it has the Atlantic channel.

Meltinthemiddle · 07/03/2021 13:03

I'm watching it on Now tv on the 7 day trial

VivaLeBeaver · 07/03/2021 13:11

Oh fab, thanks. Is it all there or one episode a week? I’m desperate to watch The Stand as well which is on some weird channel I can do a 7 day trial of so I’m waiting for all episodes to be ready and then have a binge and cancel! 😆

HappyThursdays · 07/03/2021 14:25

I had to keep hiding under a cushion!

I watched episode one myself yesterday but I'm going to make dp watch it so I have someone to squirm with Grin when I watch the rest

middleager · 07/03/2021 14:40

Binge watched it all. Will come back and compare notes when you've watched more.

Doingtheboxerbeat · 07/03/2021 15:17

I agree with pp that it is very stressful viewing. I can't believe I'm going to say this , but I couldn't wait for a particular character to die because it was all so horribly inevitable and I just needed it to be over already - just put the poor bugger out of their misery and be done with it. Awful and sad .

RedRiverShore · 07/03/2021 16:19

Watched up to episode 8, it's good, very tense in places

RedRiverShore · 07/03/2021 16:22

It's 10 episodes by the look of it for those that need to watch in a week.

Doingtheboxerbeat · 10/03/2021 15:15

Finished it, and it was poetic to say the least.

Duvetstay · 12/03/2021 20:04

I liked it overall, very well made and acted.

But HATED the end! Although poetic justice etc it seemed quite rushed and random.

Maves · 13/03/2021 08:48

I liked it bit disappointed at the ending but it made sense! Thought the whole teacher thing was a bit unbelievable maybe and pointless. And thought Bryan slipped back into Walt mode a few times but he was good.

Nospringchickendipper · 13/03/2021 16:18

All the innocent lives lost and peoples careers destroyed.
Wasn’t expecting the ending.

Justfivemoreminutesplease · 13/03/2021 18:13

Oh I’ve given up half way through episode 2 as it was too stressful watching it, knowing what was going to happen to that driver. I stopped just at the point where he was pulled over by the police and arrested.
Cant decide if I have the emotional stamina to continue Grin

JovialNickname · 13/03/2021 18:52

I've watched it all (7 day trial here too!) and thought it was great!! I really enjoyed it.

Maves · 14/03/2021 12:08

@Justfivemoreminutesplease I felt the same...but they don't show it so wasn't as distressing as I thought it was going to be.

HaroldandGeorge · 14/03/2021 15:49

I have binge watched it and I really enjoyed it. Yes, there were times when it felt like watching Walter White but I did think some of the plot was surprising and not typical. I hope there’s not a second season, I think it was rounded off perfectly. Yes, it was gory in parts but not any worse than other shows eg Walking Dead. With having a teenage son myself I could really empathise with Michael’s need to protect Adam at whatever cost.

Penguins1 · 26/03/2021 02:11

I found the series pretty slow to progress through episode 2 onwards. I was excited to watch Bryan Cranston but I think I was over enthusiastic and was pretty disappointed. I felt his character was a bit 'stilted' or something was missing?
I liked the way the son's character was, with Jimmy's daughter and becoming obsessed with the family as there was guilt or a strange connection.
Ending was quite good but I agree it was rather rushed - all in episode 10! I'd have fast forwarded some earlier episodes and made ending into at least 2 episodes.

Penguins1 · 26/03/2021 02:11

P.s. I also found it too gory!!
