So, I wanted to watch a particular film, and googling indicated that it was on Disney Plus, as well as paid youtube. I thought I might as well sign up for a month of Disney Plus so created an account, where it said that I could cancel within 14 days as long as I hadn't streamed any content.
I paid, was logged in automatically, the film I wanted doesn't exist on Disney Plus UK despite what it said on various other sites, and so I cancelled immediately, without clicking on any of the other Disney Plus content. But hold! There's a clause which said by creating an account you have automatically streamed, so you can't in fact cancel without paying a month's subscription.
I mean, I've only lost £5.99, and I am probably going to burn out my eyeballs in the next month watching ALL THE THINGS before my brief subscription expires, because I might as well, but isn't it a weaselly way for Disney to get around UK consumer law?
