Dione the dad is really awful.

Raahh · 30/03/2021 14:06

I'm a bit worried about Val.

Raahh · 30/03/2021 14:06

Does Dave owe him then?

DioneTheDiabolist · 30/03/2021 14:07

He really is Raahh.

DioneTheDiabolist · 30/03/2021 14:10

Good on you Marc.

Raahh · 30/03/2021 14:12

Oh no, back to Ruhma tomorrow.

TDogsInHats · 30/03/2021 21:18

I've been busy with actual real life things (hahaha) so I'm a little behind.
Bear why couldn't you just say you had an urgent problem at work and be excused for a minute?

Who remembers the bucket of sawdust chucked on upchuck at school? And then the teacher or caretaker could shovel it up. For some reason I can remember that in my infants school, someone or other was always vomiting. Probably the compulsory milkEnvy (vomit)

Grin

yes, that was a thing when I was at school. Grin

I also remember (about a week before the the schools closed, last year, which is why I remember it) dd2 telling me that a boy in her class was sitting next to her with the sick bucket. Hmm
The next day...they all got sent home.

Best thing- this boy's mother was a TA at the school!

Raahh · 31/03/2021 13:46

Afternoon all.

oh- a dream sequence to start with.

And we've gone back 3 years?

Raahh · 31/03/2021 13:48

It's my wedding anniversary. I was kind of hoping for a happy episode.

This is not a happy episode so far.

Raahh · 31/03/2021 13:51

It's a ll a bit 'Groundhog day' this.

Raahh · 31/03/2021 13:52

I like Rob's poem Grin.

Raahh · 31/03/2021 13:55

He doesn't look happy...

Raahh · 31/03/2021 14:01

Did Ruhma have her job back by November? I can't remember.

Raahh · 31/03/2021 14:03

Ahh... she mentioned 'taking time out'.

Raahh · 31/03/2021 14:06

That's the music from her dream?

Raahh · 31/03/2021 14:27

my mother rang- so I missed the end. Got the gist though Grin

So, Al's group thing is blood pressure patients.
It will end in tears, won't it?

and high blood pressure. Grin

LIZS · 31/03/2021 14:34

Would you not have a second mw for a shoulder dystocia delivery?

Raahh · 31/03/2021 14:50

LIZS it did seem improbable that a risky thing like that would be left to one midwife.

I might have to ask my niece Grin.

MerylStropp · 31/03/2021 15:46

Would you not have a second mw for a shoulder dystocia delivery?

Almost certainly. I seem to remember a consultant appearing out of nowhere like WonderWoman to join the two midwives and goodness knows how many other people in the room (probably not that many but it just seemed like it at the time!) Confused

Raahh · 31/03/2021 15:52

Meryl it's funny how many people suddenly appear when things start to go awry in labour! I remember the room suddenly being flooded with people when I needed an emcs with my second. All hands on deck Grin.

I suspect (boringly) it is probably down to minimising the number of actors needed on set, (due to covid) which is why Ruhma is doing it all single handedly.

I prefer the 'Ruhma is the only midwife in the village/wonderwoman' theory. Grin.

MerylStropp · 31/03/2021 17:35

You could be right there, @Raahh. Jimmy did point out that she was part of a team, but when the going got tough she was on her own. Poor woman - no wonder she gets nightmares! HmmGrin

Buggerthebotox · 01/04/2021 08:00

Are they setting Al up for a downfall? Hope so - he's getting on my pip at the moment (although I never really got the luuuurve). Grin

EventuallyDistracted · 01/04/2021 08:28

Caught up last night, I quite enjoyed that episode even though it was all about Ruhma, she didn't overstep professional boundaries once unless you count giving a patient a lift in your own car. Felt sorry for the wife, husband was not very supportive.

I also thought they would have had at least two midwives in for a shoulder dystocia.

I don't like CCG woman, so nasty to Val the other day. Bear - watch out! It's so hard to believe they need to do group consults to take pressure off the doctors when they only have one patient a day, how on earth do the actors keep straight faces when they talk about how pressurised they are?
