On the Pasadenas issue, a lot of older bands churn through members and end up with some (even all) significantly younger people than the originals could possibly have been. They often do it deliberately when the older singers' voices have weakened through age; plus, it helps to keep the band 'franchise' ticking along nicely and extending its shelf life
The Searchers called it a day in 2019, but their drummer wasn't even born until 13 years after the band started. Their last lead singer was only 6 when the band first started.
I believe there are now something like four different bands called The Drifters - each of them containing one of the original members. In fact, as long as they were all started by an original member, they don't necessarily need to keep them in the band at all, if they choose to retire.
As time goes by, I'm just waiting for JLS to eventually become The Rolling Stones by stealth
