Marcella - WITH SPOILERS

For those of us who have no self-control and have binged the whole series.
What did you think?
I thought it was good. Much less bonkers than series 1&2, and actually more enjoyable as a result. Easier to follow.

I thought it was great, until the end. It was like handbags at dawn with everyone being shot. I had kind of suspected in episode 7 that she would disappear with Katie. Disappointed that Stacey died though.

One thing though, she was stalking herself - how did she not recognise her own hand writing on the envelope with the key and the tag on the plastic gun?

Who phoned her at the airport though or was that her mind playing games?

Yeah, I was also disappointed about Stacey. Although irritated when she burst in and shot Rory saying “this is for Bobby.”
The same Bobby who caused a load of shite and was clearly a massive liability. Hmmmmm.

Was she stalking herself?
I wasn’t sure if that was Frank manipulating her. It would be quite easy to doctor the tape I reckon if you knew how. Obviously ‘they’ (Frank for arguments sake) have the footage of her going to collect whatever was in the locker. Reverse that and voila she’s then there dropping it off.
I didn’t study that bit too closely. Did the footage Frank showed her actually show her dropping the package off, or just standing at the locker? Might have to find that bit again...

God knows about the phone! But I’d guess it means we have a series 4 at some point!

I absolutely loved this. It has a happy ending of sorts. But I found it much easier to follow than the previous plots and also less dark even though that’s an odd thing to say when it’s about a crime family.

Is it possible Rav survived?

In reviews, I’ve read that Marcella has Disassociated identity disorder. Which in theory means that she could change into a different personality with different handwriting without her main identity knowing.

I agree - much less dark and way easier to follow. And as a result I enjoyed it more. Even though I enjoyed series 1 & 2.

I hope Rav survives.

Shes an incredible actress and must have been exhausted after all those hallucinations!!!!

What? Series 3? It’s only just been broadcast.

Loved it, agree it was easier to follow than previous series, wasn't too sure about frank but in the end he showed up for her.

Hope Rav survives and there will be season 4.

Really enjoyed this.

With the hair colour change in episode 7, are we meant to think that Marcella did that during a dissociative episode? Her old self getting more assertive?

Ok I need some help with it:

Who carved her name on her? (did I go for a cup of tea then or just forgotten)

Was she her own stalker? Did she make the dummy? If not who did?

Who do you think was ringing at the end?

Loved the set piece Mexican stand off at the end but wished Stacey had made it

I really enjoyed it but all the sequences where she is dreaming/passed out (or whatever it is) are too long winded. I have to forward those bits.

She had a receipt from a tattoo parlour. So the inference is, that when she was in the fugue, because she kept thinking about Marcella she went to the tattooist and got it tattooed then.

I’m still not sure if she was her own stalker.
I have my own theory (see one of my posts above) that Frank could’ve manipulated the footage.

I also think it seemed to imply that Frank put the dummy of her there, as when she was scrolling through his laptop and came across his record, there was a picture of his daughter (?) with a bag over her head that looked suspiciously like Marcella’s dummy.

Who was ringing at the end?
Rav? Her ex? Her kids? Knowing the mad plots lines it could literally be anyone!

I binged it all last night & glad it ended how it did with a happy ending. I hope that's it finished now as much as I was glad there was a series 3 I think that was a good ending & that should be it.

I also think that whilst she had her own issues I do think Frank might have been somehow manipulating her a bit too.

My guess is the phone call was from Rav, I think he did survive and that it sounded like him on the phone.

Was it the mayor who they’d put drugs into to make it look like a suicide or was it the female reporter because Connor didn’t look particularly strong to have been carrying a grown man and throwing him off the roof in that way

And why was it never mentioned again?

I thought it was the female & he was being setup for taking the drugs & then killing her, but agree it was a bit bizarre it was never mentioned again.

Found out that I watched it on Netflix US. Mystery solved. I was looking forward to a new season.

I am confused who was her handler ?

Finally watched and although I enjoyed it I felt disappointed - unlike previous series - we never really got under the skin of what the Maguire’s crimes really were (just told sex and police trafficking and drugs). We just knew they were bad people. Nothing really on how they had built up their crime empire. And who were the O’Callaghans? Everything was brushed over.

I think Stacy had a character change midway through - was that intentional? Due to her having a baby? And how could Katherine walk out of hospital with baby in its car seat with her gammy leg? I felt the incident in London - with isambard - was just a plot device to bring Rav into story? I liked the ride but really frustrating at end. Was Hugo Speer a goodie or a baddie?

Watched over 3 nights - loved it, couldn't stop watching it. Don't usually watch stuff like this anymore as I almost can't watch the violence but this was addictive.

Hope Rav lived - I was thinking the same as a pp - call an ambulance for him!!!

What did the female police officer say to the dodgy copper when she stabbed him in the neck?.
