I enjoyed this series more than the previous one, although the ending felt quite flat.
I felt some of the storyline with Lisa's son, his girlfriend and his friend was unnecessary.
I would of liked them to explore the DI's storyline more too.

Yes I enjoined it more I’m glad it’s coming back for a third series. Yes I guess it’s meant to be about Lisa and the kids lives as well as the crime. I think killing med off wasn’t really needed. Also a bit annoyed that we didn’t find out who it was that killed him.

Honestly? I felt it could easily have been done in 3 episodes. I thought the end/who did it was a bit lame and overall just a flat watch.

You might want to report your post OP and ask for the word spoiler to be added to your title.

Silenceisgolden20 · 27/01/2021 19:52

The last episode seemed a bit rushed. To get it all done.

FlatteredRhubardFool · 29/01/2021 09:19

What was going on in the office at the end with Mark? What were he and Stella up to? I binge watched 4 or 5 episodes in one night and lost the plot a bit.

I was sad that Med was offed and there wasn't an explanation. I quite liked the ending although it was wrapped up a bit too quickly.

I really like the DI in this - great acting from him. Not sure what the point of the son's story was really.

Hoping for a series 3.

CaptainMyCaptain · 29/01/2021 22:42

I liked the bit with her son and his gay friend. It wasn't anything to do with the story apart from, possibly, the teenagers handling relationships better than the adults.

aleC4 · 29/01/2021 22:58

I'm glad it's not just me!
I loved series 1 and was excited to watch this.
The first four episodes were brilliant but I felt the ending was rushed/flat and just a bit 'nothingey'?
Usually with these sort of series it's one of the people you suspect, not a non-character who'd had no real story.
I was disappointed in the ending.

dayswithaY · 30/01/2021 20:17

A total let down. How fortunate that the three suspects all explained their crimes in detail the minute they got in the police station. More luck followed with the CCTV which showed everything. I keep saying I'm not going to watch these ITV dramas any more.

Also, how did Oliver's birth mother not know that Thingy had been shot dead on his doorstep? It was all over the news yet she still missed hearing that her son's father was dead and she turned up at the hotel to meet him.

Bet Stephen Tomlinson was pissed off that all he got was 5 minutes of screen time before they shot him.

Can't quite believe you can find a Russian hit man for just £400!

intheenddoesitreallymatter · 03/02/2021 22:20

It started really strong and then when Med died it got shit.

I have so many questions and feel like so much of the plot was left unanswered. Like Oliver’s Mum just popped up after being where for a decade? Wtf was breakwater and what was the grandfather’s involvement? Why was the family so toxic? Why hasn’t they seen grace for years then all of a sudden they were the perfect family again?

Also Lisa really annoyed me. Going off on her mum ‘it’s MY decision to see him’ erm no love it’s your kids’ they’re like 15 and 17. Then she shagged him and then she was just like oh yeah come and make tea in my house. After that it was just like let’s breeze over the fact you abandoned them for a decade. It annoyed me so much it detracted from the story. Abbie went from wanting nothing to do with him to suddenly being his biggest fan, rob was just a gobshite who overlooked the fact his dad was gone for a decade.

Also the drop from DS to DC is less than £4,000, not the massive wage drop that she insinuated it was.

longwayoff · 04/02/2021 20:30

Absolutely ridiculous ending. Like they ran out of time or ideas to end it properly and just tossed a coin for which minor character could be dragged in to blame. Presumably they're saving the better storyline drugs/dodgy law firm/murder for series 3. They can keep it, I'm annoyed.

Silenceisgolden20 · 05/02/2021 13:47

A lot of loose ends to tie up.
Disappointed

longwayoff · 20/01/2022 08:23

No. They definitely were not saving a better storyline for S3 which is proving terminally boring. Switched off and went to bed halfway through Ep 2.
