So I binged it this weekend - I thought it was brilliant.

My dad watched the cartoon when she was younger but wasn't interested in the liver version.

At the beginning it felt a lot like The Magicians mixed with Harry Potter.

The story line is simple and was really gripping in places, and not a lot of violence either.

Not ashamed to say as a grown woman, I loved it

So glad to read this, it's on my watch list.

It says it has a 15 rating. Can you advise why you think that is please. Dd has spotted it and wants to watch but she is only 7.

I started it (literally seconds) and turned it off in case anything happened to the sheep.
Are the sheep ok? Can I put it back on?

Oh gosh - glad I saw this as I totally assumed it was for kids like the Winx cartoon & was going to let my two watch it this week! 😧

Umm def not suitable for young ones! Language and lots of scenes and language - def aimed at the young adult marrket!

I really struggle with super violent shows but this was tolerable and actually a pretty good story, simple to follow.

I struggled to like Bloom, the main fairy, and Sky was a little wooden in places but overall a good watch and really looking forward to season 2

Bit like teenage Harry Potter / teen wolf / vampire series / witcher. I quite enjoyed it

Might give this a go as I loved The Magicians which was a real hidden gem.

I hadn’t heard of the magicians, is that one in Netflix too?

The magicians is excellent! Highly recommend.

The acting is a bit hammy. What is with the simultaneously crap but exaggerated acting style reserved for YA tv/films?

And the sweary/violent/sexual parts of the script feel very "ooh look at me being all daring by saying something bad".

It felt like the script had been writing by a teen trying to shock her parents.

Yes, it does start off a bit young adult (with all the trials that teenagers think they face) but it does move on and mature in the later series' covering life, love, loss and sacrifice in a sometimes very moving way.

I've only watched episode 1 but I enjoyed it. Takes you away from everyday life which is much needed right now

Far too many refs to sex for them.
Plus they said it was like an adult had written a script pretending to be a teenager (and they have ASD so don't really 'get' nuanced stuff).
'too much snogging and too little action' was the vote.
snogging dialogue pretty poor too.
The only good thing which deals with sex is 'Sex Education' imo.

I think the acting is hammy in Winx but that's part of its charm

The magicians is pretty gory in places but a very interesting storyline.

Wasn't a fan of Sex Education.

Watched over the last couple of days. Enjoyed it.
Loved the teens wonderful hair, boys and girls.

I enjoyed it. Perfect escapist binge fest that required no thought at any point.

I look forward to series two.

Definitely not for littlies. Quite a lot of teen smouldering, snogging, drinking, smoking weed.

Terra is awesome - she was def one of my favourite characters..... I quite liked Stella too

Just discovered this, wasn’t familiar with the cartoon and quite liked it. I mean, it was terrible and the dialogue was awful but it was perfect escapism.

I’ve watched a few and enjoyed it as was doing my online shop. The adults in it are pretty good (Eve Best, Thomas from Downton, and Julius from the thick of it).

The sexual references go from 0-60 in a random way. There will be some teen angst and adventure (with great hair) and then the scrip writers will have remembered how successful Sex Education was and throw in references to girls allowing their boyfriends to do “bum stuff”. It’s pretty jarring.
