Oh God... I'm Samantha! Not literally obviously. But I'm a similar age. Not as big as her but heading that way... this episode is a real wake up call!!! :(

@WhatWouldPhyllisCraneDo ❤️

@whatwouldphylliscranedo speak to your gp and ask if you can get referred for surgery. Its a long road with NHS as you have dietician and psych appointments (I paid private) but worth looking to get yourself on the pathway now ❤️

PurpleDaisies · 03/02/2021 14:33

I’ve just watched the AJ episodes. So interesting. The psychologist seemed fantastic.

WhatWouldPhyllisCraneDo · 03/02/2021 14:42

Thanks @TitsInAbsentia and @Fembot123. I'm not at the needing surgery stage yet! I will speak to the GP though and see what support there is. I'm actually a similar size to Samantha at the end of the episode. Its made me realise (more than any other programme for some reason) that I do need to do something though rather than pretending I'm fine.

Starsnores · 09/02/2021 21:27

@titsinabsentia. Do you mind if I ask how much you paid going private? I am on the NHS pathway but it's going to be a long wait.

dottypotter · 10/02/2021 16:26

Jesus what crap they put on today. Wouldn't watch. It's not entertaining.

purpleme12 · 10/02/2021 16:47

It's strange that you're bothering to comment on the thread about the programme then

Don't watch it then Confused I don't find it "entertaining" as such. But its very interesting and therefore I watch it.

I don't find Love Island and programmes like that interesting or entertaining. So I don't watch them. I wouldn't go onto a thread about it just to tell everyone its a load of crap though Hmm

Firstinlastout · 11/02/2021 12:52

At the end of Samantha's programme it showed the next programme was a catch up of previous series participants, but I cant seem to find it as coming up anywhere in the schedules or on catch up.Has anyone found it anywhere as I had watched their episodes before on the first series?

purpleme12 · 11/02/2021 13:52

It's not been on yet
That police programme about paedophiles was on instead

Wow. I watched all 3 of these programmes back to back.

I had a gastric band 11 years ago. Self funded. I was 'only' 16 stone but it was miserable.

Anyway I watch these programs and see myself in them but caught much much earlier. It was definitely the right choice for me.

I'm now 44yo with teenage children and run marathons. My life is totally transformed. I emailed my surgeon on Monday to say thankyou Smile

Oh and nobody in RL knows. They all just think it's done through dieting I think. I never told anyone as people always think you'll just end up melting Mars bars or something Confused

purpleme12 · 06/03/2021 11:52

Anyone watch this week's?
Can't believe the transformation!

My 600lb life if you watch enough episodes you know that to be successful they need to break away from the feeder:

If they are in a relationship at the start, it will be unhealthy and they need to dump them

If they are single at the start, once they lose the weight they will find someone who loves them as they are, despite the loose skin

Otherwise it never works. There is always a history of abuse and the people that make it are incredibly inspiring.

Guylan · 06/03/2021 17:50

@GBand, does the band stay in permanently? Thank you.

purpleme12 · 06/03/2021 18:09

In this week's the couple seem to have managed to come through it

@Starsnores sorry only just seen this, just under £10k, which is a LOT, but if you don't mind going overseas you can get it done in Turkey for about £2.5k - loads of people doing it and seems the care is really good.

GBand · 07/03/2021 13:26

Yep. It's there for life. Smile

GBand · 07/03/2021 13:27

Yes - lots of people did go abroad when I was getting mine done, but tbh I wasn't prepared to risk it for the sake of cost cutting.

I went into debt for it - (0% credit card) not recommended! But all paid off now. I was so desperately unhappy.

Guylan · 07/03/2021 13:48

Thanks @Gband.
