I'm watching 'The Bay' on ITV and looking at all the houses and streets, all these are peoples homes and neighbourhoods. It would be so exciting in these dreary times if something was filmed around me.
Have any of you any experience of filming or even more exciting, let your own home to be used for filming?? I can imagine it isn't always great fun though, more of a hindrance sometimes. Tell me your stories Smile

A neighbour of mine let her house be used for a soap location story line.
I remember her saying she had to re wallpaper her front room because they had hung lots of art work up,she was also given a walk on part.

Another home I drive past everyday was used for a crime series.

I didnt witness any of the filming though.

You could sign up your home as a filming location. You just need to register with a location agency. They need all sorts of homes, from boring ordinary places to mansions! The trouble is, if the show becomes really popular, you might end up with tourists hanging around outside taking photos.

A certain TV drama was filmed in my local town (I won't say which obviously!), and I think it was chosen because it was such a dull, middle-class looking type place. The local FB group went mental with B-list actor spotting, and when they did season 2, lots of people tried to take photos of them filming outside to work out the plot points. They did get in the way when I nipped to Boots for a sandwich one lunchtime.

At my workplace about 20 years ago I had a programme filmed there on a weekend when we were shut. Very generously my boss said I could ask them to pay what I thought was decent for the day. I got equivalent of 7 times my daily rate and a car drive me there and home.

I never knew that, not sure they'd want my boring house though or if I'd want it on TV either
