Awful episode, what a rubbish storyline for a character who's been in it since the start!

None of it makes sense (assuming you are towards the end of the series).

Try and remember COVID cut things short so they pretty much had to come up with something out of nowhere as a reason. I'm sure with more time they could have written something better.

I wonder if we will ever know what the real reason for it having to happen like that was.

I couldn’t work out how they had his voice over but not him in it. Whyyyyyyy?

It seems like something went on with the actor. I read that he had previously sought treatment for a sleep disorder. Maybe in the future he will return.

I did actually think he looked quite ill towards the end . Kinda red/puffy /almost sweaty. Woukd make sense he wasn't well IRL..

I agree he did look really ropey sometimes. I don't know the exact story about the sleep disorder, just he had a problem a few years back and checked into a medical facility as he was only sleeping a few hours a night. It might be that he had problems with something else and it was just a cover. He said he left GA to work on other projects, but he has nothing listed. I suppose work may have been cancelled due to covid. It just struck me that maybe he was having medical problems again, so he had a quick departure and hastily written storyline that didn't really make sense to cover it up as the best they could come up with at the time.

This had been on uk tv so no spoilers needed (was on sky witness early 2020)

The actor just left without giving appropriate notice so he probably agreed he'd do a voice over but no acting.

As the writers liked the actor they wrote a happy ending for him.

And for jo, it was crap but if they had killed him off, her story for next year would be young grieving widow, Better for her to be angry ex and get over it quicker and be able to date again (and therefore get more storylines) (clearly sacking the actress /making her leave is not a fair option)

I got it on DVD for Christmas. I think it was from Amazon for about £20.

I'm going to have to buy it, I have binged 15 seasons on Prime over lockdown

I was so disappointed by how they did this although I realise from looking it up that they didn’t have much choice. I had also grown to love him and expected better!
