Am after opinions! If I’ve already seen the Tunnel will I still enjoy The Bridge? I keep seeing it recommended and would like to watch it but I know The Tunnel storyline was very similar so wondering whether knowing the story will spoil it?

I'd be surprised if you wouldn't still enjoy the Bridge. The best part of the show is the lead detective Saga Noren who is fantastic.
I haven't seen the Tunnel as it wasn't on Netflix or free on prime the last time I checked but would love to watch it.

Thanks @GreenBacon, will give it a try. The tunnel was very good too, would recommend if you get the chance to watch it

The Bridge is fantastic. I plan one day to go and visit the Oresund Bridge one day

Season 1 of The Bridge and The Tunnel are both exactly the same storyline, but seasons 2 and 3 are totally separate.

We have recently binged all of The Tunnel on Sky. Absolutely loved it!

Duvetstay · 17/01/2021 22:15

We've seen both and love both... Only season 1 is the same and the characters are different (Saga different from Elise) enough for it not to feel like it's a waste of time to watch both.

Found the bridge really absorbing.

The Bridge is SO much better than The tunnel. You’ll know what’s going to happen but you’ll still enjoy it.

Series one of the Bridge will resonate strongly as the Tunnel followed the same story. Both are good, I like the riff on Anglo-French and Danish Swedish traits both do.

And Stephen Dillane is always a pleasure to watch. Laid back but occasionally acerbic.

The Bridge is fantastic. Come back and tell us what you thought when you've finished it. Grin

And then when you've watched The Bridge, if you can get Der Pass, on Sky Atlantic I think, that's the Austrian / German take, but is completely different from the other two. The only similarity really is the body across the border.

workshy44 · 10/02/2021 15:29

I watched both and there is no comparison, The Bridge is in a different league
Is Der Pass any good ?

MuddlingMackem · 10/02/2021 16:04

Yes, Der Pass is good, but very different. :)

The Bridge is brilliant. We watched The Tunnel afterwards but turned it off after a couple of minutes when we realised the English bloke was limping because of a vasectomy and had a nightmare an which is exactly how the bridge started. (I watched it years ago but didn't remember the same plot when watching the bridge).

Will give it another go with DH if 2 & 3 are different.

I think there's 4 series of The Bridge and you get so completely pulled into the characters.

Just curious, when a series like the tunnel goes to Amazon prime and they start charging an extortionate amount for it, will it ever come back to the BBC or Netflix to be shown for free?

Nospringchickendipper · 12/02/2021 21:02

Have just finished all four seasons of The Bridge. Fantastic series.
Saga has to be my all time favourite character on tv.
Feel a bit of a loss now.
