As bizarre as the storyline is, I thought they both played the scene well.

Ugh, he lives. Sharon played the Femme Fatale so well, until she came rushing in to bend him over the sink.
A fun episode, but yes a massive anti-climax - probably a bit like consummating a marriage to Ian. (Well maybe not the fun bit).

I thought it was a really good episode.
The meal scene was good, Sharon feeling sorry for him was expected as they were good friends. It didn't quite add up to the insistence of half the square telling Ian what a hard woman she is for the past week.

Where is Ian going? I suppose he will rock up in a few months with a new wife. In the meantime Sharon will carry on running the pub only to get served divorce papers for not consummating the marriage (although how that will be proved I don't know) and no doubt the Vic will be sold without her knowledge and she will have to fight for it.

Katie will get even more manipulative as she will do anything to avoid losing Frankie despite being very willing to send her off to live in Australia indefinitely this week.

Phil is 60, ten years younger than Kathy do? I don't remember there being a thing about their ages when they were together. Ian is supposed to be 51 so Phil is only 9 years older and was his stepdad?

Did Ash move back in with her mother this week? Despite hating her? Doesn't she have work colleagues she can live with? Or rent a room again like she did before moving in with her girlfriend whose name I never remember.

Kathy and Sharon will have their knives out for one another again just like Peggy had with Sharon.

Ian recovered remarkably quickly. from what was supposed to be a lethal dose of poison. Can Sharon have him charged with attempted murder based on the voicemail? And I don't remember Ian trying to carry Denny out and he went under. I thought he couldn't open the door with the force of water and gave up to save himself??

@Thismustbelove Ian smashed the door in with a fire extinguisher iirc and got Denny out, he just didn't survive once they came up out of the water

But had he not been locked in the room, he would have got off the boat a lot sooner, with everyone else, and not died.

Yes I remember the odd bit where it flashed from Ian pulling Denny through the hole he’d made in the door to Sharon giving birth to Albie

I enjoyed that episode, it was quite exciting and Simone Lahbib is doing a great job as Katy. She almost made me feel sorry for her paedophile character.

Which Wicks was Steven's dad? I daren't look anything up these days because of spoilers. Even on here stuff leaches out, sometimes quite unintentionally.

Simon (wickey) was Stevens dad. David is Biancas Dad. Cindy had an affair with both Wickes.

In real life, Ian wouldn't have made it down those steep stairs the state he was in even before ' carbonara gate'! Plus just going off where? All this family live on the square and you need money to go abroad anywhere.
Going to stay with Max or Kathy would have been a bit more believable then just leaving from there or something: he could have spun Kathy a lie asked her for some help then gone off.
Maybe social distancing meant they had to tweak the story a bit?
He owes Max money and he still owns the pub still so Sharon hasn't gained anything really has she? Plus she hasn't any money , unless her divorce had a big pay out from Phil?

Isn't the pub half hers now as his wife? Nobody can prove they haven't consummated their marriage? I suppose Ian could dissolve the marriage on the grounds that he wasn't mentally fit to marry which considering he was supposed to be dying before he married is fairly valid. I wonder if Sharon thought he would die then and she'd inherit half the pub on his death back then?
Will Max pursue Sharon for his money and insist the pub is half his now? Max signed everything over to Ian so Max doesn't really have a leg to stand on legally but this is EE and people get married, buy and sell businesses and leave all their belongings behind them to travel all around the world 'that night'.

Oh, I had a feeling he might have been heading for a break from filming but had no idea it would be that long if he did.

I know we have this argument over spoilers but saying how long a person is written out for is a semi spoiler. Unless they are 8m pregnant and it obvious. Ian could be gone 1m or 6m but does spoil it when people say this story isn’t going anywhere for a year.
