We have netflix and amazon prime.

I've liked or loved...
Glitch. The OA. Travellers (favourite). Stranger things. The Lost room. Locke and Key. And have already watched all of Buffy and Angel as a teen and YA and not keen to revisit yet.

What else is good?

Black Mirror
True Detective
Ghost Stories (that's maybe veering a bit into horror)

Glamflimfloogety · 11/01/2021 22:59

Umbrella Academy
Lovecraft country - not sure if this on sky box sets or Amazon/Netflix

camsie · 11/01/2021 23:19

Dark on Netflix.

From your other choices, you would love it!

Callcat · 11/01/2021 23:21

Dark tourist

DrMadelineMaxwell · 12/01/2021 13:25

Thanks for the suggestions.

I liked some of Black Mirror but some of them are a little too dark for me. I also liked Inside no 9 (iplayer or all4) as it's similar but less dark!

I've dipped into dark tourist and Umbrella academy. Sadly UA didn't grip me.

I'll check out some of these suggestions. Thanks.

Did you watch the Johnathan Norel & Mr Strange series? We've just rewatched on catch up.

Definitely second ‘The Boys’ on Amazon Prime. What a show!

AgnesNaismith · 12/01/2021 13:33

Oh and Russian Doll - Netflix

RainBow725 · 12/01/2021 13:35

The Wilds new-ish on Amazon. Very good.

jewel1968 · 12/01/2021 13:36

Have you iPlayer - Devs is excellent

Soubriquet · 12/01/2021 13:37

I loved Locke and Key too!

IZombie. It’s more funny than scary and is very weird

hiptobeasquare · 12/01/2021 13:38

I second Devs- it was a great watch.

JorisBonson · 12/01/2021 13:40

The 3% on Netflix

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 12/01/2021 13:44

First series of Black Mirror is amazing (I didn't like the pig one though).

DrMadelineMaxwell · 18/01/2021 23:05

I do have iplayer. I'll check devs out thanks.

I binge watched Fringe recently and liked its X files vibe.

Gypsy is brilliant (Netflix).

Moanranger · 19/01/2021 04:36

I just stumbled across Midnight Cafe on Netflix. It is Japanese, quite quirky & low key, v original. No violence, set in a tiny cafe. They often end with a recipe for the food being served in the episode. It is an entree into the Japanese culture/mindset. Loving it!

mrwalkensir · 22/01/2021 22:19

Moanranger Tokyo stories - Midnight Diner - yep - wonderful. Funny, and slightly soap opera, but also fascinating insight into the culture. Have you tried Samurai Gourmet? Not sure if We Have Always Lived in the Castle is still available...

KatyPerrysMustang · 22/01/2021 22:29

Netflix:
Orphan black
Russian doll
What happened to Monday
The end of the f’img world

Fringe

Without doubt my favourite TV series ever made. Hardly anyone I know has heard of it but when I've recommended it to people they've loved it too. Series 1 is good but it really takes off from series 2 onwards. A very basic outline is it's about an fictional FBI team investigating fringe science events.
