I thought it was subtly conveyed that the daughter had Depression which wasn't being taken seriously by the family - I wondered if she'd even managed to complete school? One of mine had a breakdown at exam time a few years ago.
I loved the dialogue with Alison Stedman asking her exactly how they did it - but meaning a long distance relationship.

Hoping for a series here, too.

She'd have had no school from March onwards then Algorithm A level grades, shortly followed by these being replaced by teacher predicted grades (unless the algorithm ones were better)

Oh and I'd probably not watch a series - with all that debt piling up I don't think I could bear watch.

I just watched this and found it funny and realistic

It has potential to be a series, a little like Friday Night Dinner which is amusing with occasional.poignant moments.

I love the actress who plays the mum.

I watched it tonight & really enjoyed it. Properly made me laugh out loud. I'd love a series too, but without any sort of dire money troubles hanging over them.
