The series is about a group of young girls whose plane crashes, leaving them stranded on a deserted island. Refinery29 described the series as "equal parts angsty teen drama and survivalist adventure". That same month, the series was renewed for a second season.

Plot
A group of teenage girls from different backgrounds consisting of Fatin Jadmani, Dot Campbell, Martha Blackburn, Rachel Reid, Shelby Goodkind, Nora Reid, Toni Shalifoe, and Leah Rilke are on an airplane when it crashes into the ocean while en route to Hawaii for the Dawn of Eve program, a young women's empowerment retreat. They survive the crash and find themselves stranded on a deserted island. As the girls worked to survive as castaways and learn secrets from each other, they are unaware that the plane crash was orchestrated by the head of Dawn of Eve program in Hawaii and are subjects of a social experiment.

Lost, but just with teen girls.

There are so many dodgy logistic issues that suspending my disbelief that much is hard work! The final reveal reminded me of one of the Orphan Black series.

Enjoyed it bar the very end as don't know what happened next. Least there is series2.

Think we didn't see Nora in future (assume died saving sister from shark that I assume took her hand)

Did we see the violinist lady? Or the girl who attacked the bear?
What happened to free them? Why do they think they are being held after being rescued?
So many questions!!

What was girl who looked after her dad involvement with the company as she signed up direct with the lady.

I saw it a week ago, so forgot all their names already!

Norah and Marta weren't there. At the end, being interviewed. Violin girl was. Assuming Marta dead because the agent looked into her box of things to pay her parents off.

I too couldn't work out if Dot too had signed up, after her fathers death.

I was also very disappointed in how little some of the characters grew/changed.
Leah is focused on. Shelby. Rachel and Norah. But not that much Marta. And even less Fatin. And nothing of Dot. Which is a shame because Dot is probably the most likeable character.

I thought Nora was dead, but then wondered if maybe she was elsewhere, as she was the plant, and so not still being observed.
They've not gone home, as they've not been rescued, just moved location and being told they're quarantined.
I want to drop all the parents on an island with crocodiles, snakes and bears and then put the scientists in a pit.

For Marta and Toni, who would pay for them to attend the retreat? I got the impression Toni had no real family? And Marta's were not at all rich?

Weird that the 8 girls, ignoring Janet, were in groups of 2. Sone 2 knew each other and other 2s just lived in sane town (Leah and fatin passed each other at a frat party)
Were the girls chosen for the project or just the project took the girls whose parents applied for it?
