Anyone else for world's strongest man?

Every year we watch this, my 10 year old dds yearn for it as do I - possibly the least likely wsm fan you'd ever find.

Bit different this year - hurricane and COVID means it's a very different atmosphere. We are dreadfully partisan and dd1 was upset that mark felix (age 53!!!) didn't go through although Bish was lucky that the US guy ripped of his bicep.

First Stoltman brother today - I can't take to either of them tbh.

And obviously all hail Eddie Hall. Excellent presenter.

Me! I love it. WSM is part of Christmas!

MindatWork · 28/12/2020 19:30

I have it on in the background - one man just gave himself a nosebleed lifting weights! Shock

I loved the commentator 'that's why wsm is one of the prettiest of sports'

We were expecting Stoltman to walk this.....,

Just started watching from Ep 1. We went to a Giants Live strongman event a couple of years ago. Really good day out - saw all the top names & met Darren Sadler.

I love this! Daily treat with the 10yo. I thought Tom Stoltman talking about his autism was really moving.
Mark Felix is my favourite though Grin

Love it... Watch it every year... Sad that it is missing the crowds and resort atmosphere this year but delighted it's on at all!

And doesn't Eddie Hall look great.... I think now that he's not competing at the WSM level, he isn't as big as he was, and it really suits him... And he just seems like a really sound bloke 😊

funtimefrank · 29/12/2020 19:44

Eddie Hall's YouTube channel is entertaining. I saw one which showed how much he had to eat when at the height of wsm competition. It was unbelievable.

The poor Estonian guy Sad. How gutting to get injured after all that effort.

I went to school with Eddie Hall. And worked with him when he worked the doors in our town. He looked nothing like he does now.

funtimefrank · 29/12/2020 19:45

@LST was he as sound as he seems (such a fan girl.....)

Yes he was and I assume still is. Really down to earth all round Nice guy.

whatayear20 · 29/12/2020 19:51

We love it, but my husband just commented that it seems to be a predominately white sport, which seems unusual.

FirstOfficerDouglas · 30/12/2020 20:03

Me too. Watch it every year - as MyBeloved said - it is part of Christmas! It's compelling!
