Recycling Actors

I have heard that there are 1000's of actors at any one time out of work in the UK. Some, I'm sure lack the talent to work on TV but surely this cannot be said for all of them? Why O why then do the same old actors crop up on our screens. When was the last time you saw "fresh blood" on the 5 main channels?

Examples:
Spooks last night had Hermione Norris who flits between BBC and ITV. It also had the guy who played one of the grifters on Hustle. Nigel from Eastenders is now a surgeon on Holby. Ruby from Stenders is now on the Bill and the guy from the Bill is going to Stenders. Will Ross Kemp/Raquel from Corrie sign another season with ITV I wonder? Y A W N.

AND AND AND - Stacey's mum from Stenders turned up spewing blood up everywhere in Spooks last night? Suuurely another actress could of done this??

maybe they give them contracts and have to find work for them

know what you mean though. they go from grange hill, to eastenders to holby

They do the same in America though - so many people have been in all 3 CSIs (the most irritating being the guy from Judging Amy who was a killer chef in New York, only to manage to break out of prison (clearly), run away to become a gay man in Vegas and kill Katherine's dad )
