We loved series 1... Liked series 2
But the special tonight was odd...
Felt like they had edited it right down.
Good bits far and few between

I haven’t watched it yet but long as the captain is in it I will be happy,

MrsFionaCharming · 23/12/2020 21:48

A little bit too sentimental for me!

lazylinguist · 23/12/2020 21:56

Still enjoyed it, but it wasn't as good as the two series. I found Mike's family a bit boring!

PhoebeSnow · 23/12/2020 22:13

Mike’s sisters were awful.
I was quite moved by the singing with the ghosts and Julian’s story.

Oh , he's my favourite. Robin I can do without.
thesunwillout · 23/12/2020 22:19

I enjoyed it, great to get a Christmas special from them.
I love Patrick.
The singing at the end was touching.

Heavymetaldetector · 23/12/2020 22:29

I love ghosts so much, it is favourite sitcom of recent times and has become my comfort TV. However... It was just a bit bleh!

june2007 · 23/12/2020 22:39

I wanted mike to have a go at his family but he didn,t. But I guess that is often true of families, perhaps they tried to fit too much inot one episode. Still enjoyed it.

Makegoodchoices · 23/12/2020 22:39

I loved the whole thing.

NeedWineNow · 23/12/2020 22:48

I loved it.

Anotherlovelybitofsquirrel · 23/12/2020 22:56

I loved it. I love them all. I might have cried BlushGrin

thesunwillout · 23/12/2020 23:06

I cried too, there I've said it.

I love those actors and all they've written and performed over the years for our family entertainment.

ChequerBoard · 23/12/2020 23:12

Robin is the best one! 'Bum!'

pusscatsinblankets · 23/12/2020 23:13

I also loved it and I also cried. My 11yo also loves Ghosts.
They are such an amazing bunch of writers and actors Smile

ChiefClerkDrumknott · 23/12/2020 23:14

I’m afraid I had something in my eye at the end Blush

june2007 · 23/12/2020 23:14

Anyone else thinking the cot needs to be lowered or the baby will climb out?

mintyneb · 24/12/2020 07:10

june I thought exactly the same thing!

FaLaLaLaLaLaLaLaBlah · 24/12/2020 07:19

I liked the singing. Did not like the baby being left to cry alone in a random house with no baby monitor in a crib she could have fallen from.

The rest just felt a bit flat really. I get that they were trying to play on A Christmas Carol but with the ghost of Julian visited by the living instead of the other way around, but it just all felt a bit contrived.

And with the exception of Julian, it kept feeling like the other ghosts were missing, they were in it so briefly.

FaLaLaLaLaLaLaLaBlah · 24/12/2020 07:21

Also thought Mike’s entire family were arseholes - the mum is on her knees with sleep deprivation and not one of them offers to take over so she can have a nap? Arseholes! Although I realise that’s nowt to do with the actual show.

desperatehousewife21 · 24/12/2020 16:07

Maybe would have preferred Alisons family to have been there too? Not sure if she actually has family tho otherwise they would have inherited the house, and not her. Can’t remember if she’s mentioned family.

I liked the singing and there were a couple of laugh moments. Didn’t really like Mikes family either they were just all a bit flat.
Like that she kissed the back of Thomas’ head at the end.

Pat cracks me up tho, when Alison wrote ‘carol’ on the board and he thought it was his wife, then his face when he realised it wasn’t Grin

Samcro · 24/12/2020 16:11

i found his family annoying,
no one ate the dinner.
and why did no one he;p the mum?

Nuie · 24/12/2020 16:15

So happy we had a brief shot of the plague pit people singing in the cellar. They are my favourites (and Mary).
I loved it.

Pat is the best. And the Captain 😍

Loved it!

Mike's family were mean to him AngrySad

DarkDarkNight · 25/12/2020 23:07

I enjoyed it. Patrick’s face when he thought Carole was coming was heartbreaking, I rewound it a few times, I love that character. I like a bit of sentimentality at Christmas so enjoyed the singing and found myself feeling a bit sorry for Julian.
