It's been unavailable for years but it's now on iPlayer!

Thank you OP 😀

Thanks!

I watched the first half on BBC4 last night. Took a while to get into it but loved it more and more as it went on. Second half tonight. Kind of scared about what's going to happen... (no spoilers please). Also loved all the 80s stylings and posh London lifestyles!

Well that was bonkers!! Yes I could have done without all the bath scenes!

Trumplosttheelection · 24/12/2020 22:48

Oh I loved that! Just brilliant

bellsbuss · 24/12/2020 22:59

I remember watching it with my mum, looking forward to watching it again.

NurseButtercup · 25/12/2020 10:25

This was brilliant thanks for sharing I definitely wouldn't have watched.

Wonderful stuff, utterly hammy and thesp. And those flashbacks to 80s life were gorgeous.

SakiSiam · 26/12/2020 00:44

Watched it when it was first on BBC because I'd previously read the book. Most of the time a novel is better than tv/film adaptation (apart from 'A Christmas Carol', with Alistair Sim, which is very true to Charles Dickens' novel). Yes, the book version was better, but the adaptation did a good job. Having watched it again on BBC4, the look in Diana Riggs' eyes at the horror of her current situation (at the end) is awful, and illustrates what a good actress she was.

I watched it all again yesterday and it's still a very entertaining drama, disturbing as well in places. It's on iPlayer for another month.

Thanks for this! I remember it well. Diana Rigg was terrifyingly believable.

Watched it over 2 nights with my mum. It was fantastic. Diana Rigg was incredible!

Lalalatte · 01/01/2021 12:55

I remember watching it, my mum really didn't want me to!

thelake · 05/01/2021 22:47

Realize how old I am thinking that the 90s was only 20 years ago

ageingdisgracefully · 06/01/2021 20:40

I feel old watching it too. James Wilby looks about 12.

Never seen it before and thoroughly enjoying the early 90s vibe.

thelake · 07/01/2021 11:13

Bloody brilliant. Stayed up till 2am watching the whole thing!

ageingdisgracefully · 07/01/2021 12:50

I'd like to see some 90s stuff again. Some great programmes.
