Especially when the monkey keeps saying poo if he gets a question wrong. It's not all the time but i wish he wouldn't,as my DD 3y7m likes to say it quite a lot and as a result of hearing off of other children.Has anyone else found this annoying.Right rant over.

No, you're not alone. DD and DS still find this hilarious every time it's said. I find myself getting annoyed with a lot of the kids programmes though, esp. when they DON'T SAY THE T'S IN WORDS, GGRRRRR [ANGRY]

MistressMary · 25/10/2004 08:53

it really makes me wonder too and when they say "Did you get it right if you did then give yourself a shiny!" Just sounds rude to me?

Caligula · 25/10/2004 08:58

Call me a snob, but whenever I watch Cbeebies, i always think goodness, they let anyone on the BBC nowadays.

Emma Spice Girl last night, dropping 'er T's all over the place.

Well I've found that my own filthy mind is the problem with the Shiny Show. When they sing "Give yourself a pat on the front, a pat on the front, a pat on the front, Give yourself a pat on the front..." I somehow want to substitute more perfectly rhyming (but sadly extremely rude) refrain for their "You won, you won, you won." Sigh. Luckily at just over five and a half my boys are nearly free from the lure of this programme and will only watch it when feeling a bit under the weather.

Scrummymummy, I'm glad it's not just me that thinks those words, too . I don't really have a problem with the monkey saying poo, though. There are worse words out there that they could (and no doubt will) be picking up.

I love the shiny show warts and all

captainCOD · 25/10/2004 11:55

you wait till she is calling you a girl pants

captainCOD · 25/10/2004 11:58

lol at you all load of old grannnies!

edam · 25/10/2004 12:13

Glad it's not just me who find themselves thinking of rude substitutes for words they actually use. Give yourself a shiny has to be deliberately done to make adults laugh, doesn't it? Although dh thinks I've just got a dirty mind...
Most irritating programme on kids' TV except Tikabilla IMO...
