I thought it was great too. Watched it with my teens who even put their devices away and were giggling like crazy. Not convinced about the whole environment speech at the end though.

PoloNeckKnickers · 22/12/2020 15:50

It's not as good without Lisa Tarbuck.

claracluck78 · 22/12/2020 15:52

I really enjoyed it but DP thought it was a bit too close for comfort & that it was just a long Ben Elton rant.

I laughed a lot though.

TeenPlusTwenties · 22/12/2020 15:55

Excellent as always.

Floralnomad · 22/12/2020 16:05

Brilliant .

CatVsChristmasTree · 22/12/2020 16:07

What is it and what platform was it on?
Thanks.

TeenPlusTwenties · 22/12/2020 16:12

Cat BBC2 last night @ 9pm or thereabouts.

David Mitchell as a cynical William Shakespeare trying to write one play or another and taking inspiration from life around him. Lots of parallels to modern day.

This episode was plague lockdown & the Scottish play.

FleeceNavidadToEwe · 22/12/2020 16:14

Worth a watch if you have the time

@CatVsChristmasTree it’s Shakespeare reimagined - comedy on BBC

JustDanceAddict · 22/12/2020 16:26

Very Ben Elton ‘bit of politics’ - could’ve been a bit more subtle.

Snugglepiggy · 22/12/2020 19:20

We normally love Upstart Crow but somehow we just didn't enjoy this episode as much as the others. Maybe my sense of humour went missing last night.I laughed a bit at the start but that was it.

SoupDragon · 22/12/2020 21:43

I've just watched it having seen this thread pop up (I knew there was a Christmas one but didn't know when).

I loved it 😂

BreakfastOfWaffles · 25/12/2020 20:21

Plaguey beak 😀

RememberSelfCompassion · 25/12/2020 20:39

Absolute hysterics. So well done. Plaguey beak 😁

ContessaDiPulpo · 25/12/2020 20:40

I enjoyed it as something of a 16th century reprise of 2020 Grin

LyndaSnellsSniff · 26/12/2020 22:18

Loved it. Loved it, especially the bit about clapping/bashing saucepans.

KipperTheFrog · 26/12/2020 22:22

We loved it, very funny.

Toddlerteaplease · 26/12/2020 22:42

'Plaguey Beak' sounds far better than mask.

RememberSelfCompassion · 27/12/2020 10:43

It was clever and properly funny wasn't it. I need more suggestions like it!

It really helps to feel.part of somethig "we've all been through." When its in comedy.
