Didn't see the final but just read that Alex used Chalkstream trout in his main dish. Chalkstream is a small company based in the village I live in and I can confirm the trout is delicious!!

😂😂😂😂 wouldn't put it past him! Hated the look of his food.

Alex's restaurant is in the town where I live. We had takeaway from there in one of the lockdowns. It was genuinely incredible, far above the standard you would expect in a little market town. The whole town, from what I can see, is treating this like a personal victory, everyone is so excited. DS (3) and I were in town this morning killing time looking in the shop windows at the Christmas decorations. Alex was in his restaurant on the phone beaming from ear to ear. He waved at DS, which was nice. So yay Alex.

It must be really difficult to stay quiet about such a triumph. I didn't catch when this series was filmed but it has to have been several months ago.

Did he have his MasterChef award on display?

That's really sweet Orange and makes me like him more. Love that the whole town is delighted.

Hey @Footle. The VT refers to the "video taped" bits in a (usually) live show. It's more accurately used for the training parts of Strictly, but in this case is about the stories with the families.

Hooray! I saw it on Facebook and DH is now grumpy as I had promised him MC was finished for the year.

It's on Monday and Wednesday at 9pm, with Jonty and the Gormless One.

Easily late to this. Just caught up with semi and final last night.
I know it’s unlikely anyone will even see this but I had to post how much o enjoyed this series. The three finalists plus philli were wonderful. Was in tears repeatedly during final.
Absolutely adore Santosh. What a lovely man he seems.
All three could have won and I’d have been happy. Well done Alex and well done santosh and Bart.
