is being repeated on Fridays? I've missed the first few already!

OP posts:
captainmummy · 20/10/2007 12:14

Haven't you watched them the first time? Ooooh captain Jack!

WideWebWitch · 20/10/2007 12:16

God it's fantastic, I loved it.

Freckle · 20/10/2007 12:42

Blimey. Has it started again?? I haven't seen any publicity at all. When is it on?

WideWebWitch · 20/10/2007 14:28

It's not a new series is it? Isn't it repeats?

fawkeoff · 20/10/2007 14:33

its repeats, must say it never floated my boat when it first aired.i have now changed my tune and think its fabarooney

Chamomile · 20/10/2007 21:09

I didn't like it first time round either, but I'm really enjoying the repeats. There are some fun fanvids on Youtube if you can't go a week without a bit of Captain Jack.

cornsilk · 20/10/2007 21:13

Is the next series on yet?

DumbledoresGirl · 20/10/2007 21:14

I don't even like sci-fi but I loved Torchwood (mainly for Captain Jack). Is there to be another series?

Chamomile · 20/10/2007 21:14

Next series is January , I think.

cornsilk · 20/10/2007 21:21

Isn't Spike from Buffy meant to be in the next series?

RubberDuck · 20/10/2007 21:33

Hmm, I watched the first episode of Torchwood and thought it was ABSOLUTELY dire. Does it improve then?

DumbledoresGirl · 20/10/2007 21:41

Yes it does. The inter-relationships between the different characters build.

Obviously we are not talking a work of literature here, but I remember watching the first episode retrospectively having missed it originally, and it definitely lacked a lot that the later episodes contained. The final episode was brilliant.

Chamomile · 20/10/2007 21:49

All I remember from the first couple of episodes was lots of girl/girl snogging. I think they went overboard trying to show how "adult " it was going to be. The later episodes that I've seen are a lot better.

pinkteddy · 20/10/2007 21:52

Spike from Buffy? Really?

Chamomile · 20/10/2007 22:18

I think I read somewhere he's going to be another time agent from the future.

UnquietDad · 20/10/2007 22:26

While I have every wish and, indeed, confidence that the next series of "Torchwood" will build upon the first and will show greater maturity in the scriptwriting, and will go more deeply into the potential for character conflict and arc-building and will generally be a more erudite, complete and satisfying whole...

...I hope they still have lots of girl-girl snogging.

motherinferior · 20/10/2007 22:28

Snogging and Spike....

NomDeBroomstick · 20/10/2007 22:28

I'm no fan, although DD loves Dr Who, but MY, MY, MY, John Barrowman is a fine figure of a man.

motherinferior · 20/10/2007 22:29

He's a bit of a fine figure in the way that my friend Marian's mum used to refer to a Fine Big Girl, though, isn't he. You get quite a lot of Barrowman for your money.

UnquietDad · 20/10/2007 22:30

Blimey, what IS it about him? Everyone seems to love him!

No wonder Chris from CBeebies (allegedly) and Laurence Llewellyn-Bowen (by his own admission) camp(ed) it up to convince women they are/were gay and get loads of attention from would-be "converters"!

motherinferior · 20/10/2007 22:31

...says the bloke who just rooted (and I use the word advisedly) for girl-on-girl action...

UnquietDad · 20/10/2007 22:32

oh, indeedy... I am at least consistent... in my typical straight-maleness.

NomDeBroomstick · 20/10/2007 22:33

I like a chap that comes with a healthy portion of meat, MI

pinkteddy · 20/10/2007 22:34

Are you saying Chris from Cbeebies isn't gay? He's so camp! Can't wait for Spike - hope he's got that faux English accent again!
