Hope not treading on any toes

Thread 2 is almost at 1000

AJ has come across as quite serious and bordering on grumpy.
He’s one of the youngest too. I’d put it down to him having a very disciplined job, the many hours of practice for dancing. The dedication to get things right. Being a pro on Strictly must put pressure on them.
I wonder if he was tough on his dance partners, on strictly... I kind of reckon he was.

JayAlfredPrufrock · 30/11/2020 23:09

Oh please. Three little kids and it’s nearly Christmas? Stay at home then 🙄

Hearwego · 30/11/2020 23:12

A few posters have commented on here about why some of the celebrities go on this show. Well it’s obviously a money isn’t it?!!
Even the reserve celebrities get paid something like 50k, who probably won’t even go into the jungle...

Not that I blame them. If I was a celebrity my plan would be to be last in and first out, whilst spending the rest of my time living it up in Australia in a hotel, watching everyone’s else suffer eating rice and beans!!

ScottishStottie · 30/11/2020 23:12

Some people seem so resentful that the celebs are making money from this.

Whether wealthy or not, i dont believe many people would turn down £20k at least for a few weeks work. Doesnt mean its not hard, but i imagine its worth it.

unique1986 · 30/11/2020 23:14

Its about all of them waving and doing hand or ear signals. Vernon is just as annoying. But it's all of them every year. Not just cos its 2020.
The tears have been ridiculous this series tho. Like every 3 eps it's a other massive cry session.
When I watch I dont want to see them crying about outside world. I want to see how they are getting on with everyone inside the camp.

unique1986 · 30/11/2020 23:17

As far as I was concerned Russell hasn't been in the mainstream public eye for years. So doing I'm a celeb helps with his future gigs.
Shane has been on eastenders for a while so this well help get more work for him.
He was apparently skint lol

Fizbosshoes · 30/11/2020 23:18

I'd like Gi or Mo to win. I think they both seem really genuine.

Fizbosshoes · 30/11/2020 23:24

As much as they all say they want to face their fears or challenge themselves, for most if them it will be the financial incentive, and the chance of gaining a wider audience . (After all, I bet they, through contacts could get all manner of sky diving/handling bugs/assault course etc type experiences to do in private if they really wanted) I didnt know much about Giovanna for example, and had no idea who Jess or Jordan were. Mo will only have a few more years (if that) left as a competitive athlete so maybe he wants to get into tv?

Hearwego · 30/11/2020 23:25

Mo Farrah is so laid back. Incredibly cool.
He was on The Cube a few years ago, which was repeated very recently. He’s one of the few people to ever beat the Cube and even had plenty of lives left !
A real legend!

DigOutThoseLemonHandWipes · 01/12/2020 00:15

I'm sure their families know they miss them and are thinking of them as and when.
If there are unsure of this then they are very insecure and stupid...

Or young children.

JaneJeffer · 01/12/2020 00:22

The model involved in the Vernon scandal was on the Page Three programme on C4 tonight. She said there was no sexting just him saying she looked nice in a photo, etc. She was very bitter as she said it ruined her career but not his. They didn't explain how the texts ended up in the paper.

100percentpeachynessa · 01/12/2020 00:40

@AppleKatie

This is what happens when you let kids focus exclusively on music and forget general education 😂
He had a couple of brain tumours in the past perhaps he has memory problems?
Bluntness100 · 01/12/2020 06:19

I also think mo and Giovana seem the nicest people in there, but mo appears to be in how own world most of the time.😂

Standrewsschool · 01/12/2020 07:28

I’m surprised Bev went last night as I thought a strong Corrie vote would keep the ‘Corrie Legend’ in. They seemed to worship her abot because of this, and were lining her up to win? Why did she always look so bewildered?

Also surprised Victoria went out. Thought it would be Jess, although maybe her talking about Hollie plus giving her treat awayvsaved her for another day. She had move screen time then then any other programme.

Gi’s hand signal doesn’t bother me. Maybe it could have been more discreet.

MaggieFS · 01/12/2020 07:40

I hadn't even noticed Giovanna's hand signal until I read about it on here. Tbh, I'm less bothered about someone thinking of their children than those ADULTS who blether on about missing home when they've CHOSEN to go away and are being well paid for doing so.

bearlyactive · 01/12/2020 07:51

If the only thing I had to get irritated about was a hand signal that is shown on television every day for approximately two or three seconds, I'd count myself bloody lucky! Grin

I'm surprised Bev went, too, I suppose because of the Corrie vote. But I expected both her and Victoria to go a bit later, I thought it would have been AJ and Jess yesterday.

Ghouliet · 01/12/2020 07:53

Jordan and Jess are the two that stand out for facing their fears, they’ve both been on a journey. The worst trial was Russell’s last night by far. I’d like to see Gi do a trial, she may be nice to others in camp but she didn’t speak up when Russel & Victoria did so I wonder if she’ll try to avoid it.

Ghouliet · 01/12/2020 07:54

If Gi doesn’t do a trial I couldn’t vote for her to be Queen as her journey has been more of an even keel than the others

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 01/12/2020 07:55

There's enough of them who've not done a solo trial that they could all get one done each before it ends. Gi, Vernon, Jess.

covetingthepreciousthings · 01/12/2020 07:56

I’d like to see Gi do a trial, she may be nice to others in camp but she didn’t speak up when Russel & Victoria did so I wonder if she’ll try to avoid it.

Neither did Vernon, I'd like to see him do one too.

Is there a trial tonight?

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 01/12/2020 08:03

Think so. They usually announce who is doing the trial on the app mid morning.

Fizbosshoes · 01/12/2020 08:07

Russell's trial looked awful (and one of the hardest) but it didnt involve anything that people mostly say they're scared of - spiders, snakes, heights etc. I would hate being submerged in whatever that was though.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 01/12/2020 08:42

I know he said it was cold (which would be miserable) but I didn't understand why he said molasses smelt horrible. It's basically treacle!

I did laugh at Gi's switch from "the next one is Spain" to "Italy, which looks like a boot". Obviously you don't want to sound patronising, but he was a bit hopeless...

DobbyTheHouseElk · 01/12/2020 08:47

They have been returning to camp clean if they’ve done a mucky trial. Russel had showered and clean clothes before her went back to camp. They certainly seem to be well looked after. In OZ they didn’t do that, but they had the warmth.

Russell’s trial seemed really grim, I think it was coloured water, but it looked freezing.

JaneJeffer · 01/12/2020 08:55

Russell was absolutely shivering. They couldn't leave him to get hyperthermia. I wonder where they have the off screen shower. It must feel like a treat to use it.
