Star Trek: TNG - watch along?

Does anyone fancy watching The Next Generation from the pilot, one episode a week?

Not done this before but perhaps we could choose an evening a week when we watch it and then have a chat?

I recently watched Voyager as had never watched it and really enjoyed it! But it's been years since I've watched all of TNG, although have watched it through a couple of times.

They're just the best Starfleet crew, in my opinion; Riker, Data, Worf, Guinan, Tasha and of course, the indomitable Picard!

Tuesdays work best for me Grin

I'd love to, but DH isn't keen and DD keeps scrolling on when we're channel hopping in the evening so (it's on Horror channel atm). With 178 episodes it would take 3 years plus! Would be interesting to catch up on the earlier ones - think I missed half of season 1 (probably didn't miss much) - maybe I'll watch them on the quiet.

Good luck with your quest - LLAP \//

God no!
Although I watched the series avidly when it originally aired, I can only recall a handful of episodes I'd watch again. I liked Voyager more,
and don't mention Deep Space 9
Have you seen the new Star Trek: Pickard and Star Trek: Discovery?

I'm sorely tempted. It's my favourite by a long way, but I don't think I could commit to the whole thing! If you made it classic episodes once a month I'd do it.
So many great episodes though. Happy times.

*Picard .......... Doh

Maybe what we need is a long running Star Trek thread (does one exist?) for all Trekkies to gather and bantz when the mood strikes them. Then you can share your thoughts as much as you want! (Does one exist already? I assume not)

FiddlefigOnTheRoof · 05/12/2020 19:39

I can also share my thoughts on Trip in a blue vest from #ENT. My thoughts are: yes.

I've been re-watching the final series of TNG. I love it but I'd forgotten that there were some really tedious episodes. ("Masks" is one that springs to mind).

I loved the "Picard" series though and could be persuaded to re-watch it. :o

TNG is great - the change between the pilot and the next episode is fascinating - such a difference.

It's great to see the characters evolve. There are many great episodes and Picard is such fantastic Captain.

Aposterhasnoname · 06/12/2020 21:53

Cant believe there’s people on here liking Picard. It’s shit, and that’s from someone who thinks TNG is the best programme ever. Thinking about watching Discovery on Netflix but hoping it’s not as shit as Picard.

FiddlefigOnTheRoof · 07/12/2020 14:26

Discovery is something of its own. We loved it, but I’d view it as an extended film rather than a series. It’s very full on.

magicstar1 · 07/12/2020 14:34

I watched it all earlier in lockdown. I watched TNG, Voyager, Deep Space 9, Discovery and Picard. I tried Enterprise but couldn't get into it.

I watch TNG all the time on Netflix when there's nothing else on.

Out of them all, I enjoyed DS9 most....after not seeing it for years, it really was the most amazing series of them all.

species5618 · 08/12/2020 22:07

I have to say that Picard in his new series looks a little ...... elderly.
I imagine him having a little snooze in his captains chair.
