This is us season 5 - disappointing.

Is it just me? I loved seasons 1-4 and couldn't wait for 5. But it's seems so preachy and serious now. BLM, Coronavirus, eating disorders even a bit of trans pronouns shit....i can't be doing with it, it wasn't like this before! I am only on episode three but ugh I just paused it to write this.

Yea I agree, I watch tv to escape the hells of covid; and now we are being reminded of it every min in this is us.

I was a bit disappointed to see they’d gone in with the covid stuff as like you say it’s supposed to be a bit of escapism. But I wonder if that’s the only way they could film it? It’s on a season break now til January I think so be interesting to see how it develops. I did enjoy the viral Randall story though and I think we’re moving towards the end of the arc as a series so be interesting to see how the start wrapping things up
