Nigella - OMG she does my head in

DH always watches her!!!!! and everytime I see it she is on a silk dressing gown talking in a stupid voice that she thinks is Sexy

dh finds her intensely irritating. He said "Blimey I want to divorce her..."

God, I think she's great. Dh thinks she's even greater than that!!

I'm not up on current gossip ... does current husband want to divorce her, then?

I used to like her, and there's no arguing with her recipes, but the latest TV series is most irritating. It's the theatrical flouncing and kooky eye-rolling that bother me - NO NEED!

But I think, with the exception of hatwoman's fella, that it's mostly women who don't like her.

She's camp. Let's be honest about it.

And if she were a camp man, we'd find her most amusing.

I think her PR team have got together, rightly or wrongly, and suggested that she over-egg her personality. It's highly competitive in the TV chef market, and most of the women (may I even suggest all) are pretty bloody dull.

Like her or loathe her, I don't think she's dull.

The over sexed stuff is quite funny. I think the "I'm so busy I barely have time to stuff 15 donut sandwiches down my throat' thing is a bit bonkers and irritating to people who have real livews.

I think she is really sexy. I am suprised she doesn't wiegh about 20 stone though.

She's got to be pushing 19 though

beenleigh - yes, she's a parody of herslef, that's exactly it. Shame really - she used to be ok. She also doesn't look real any more - veneers on her teeth and mask-like make-up. She really doesn't need to do that - what used to be great about her was the fact that she was normal looking. Still admire her figure though - proper womanly...

I think she's gorgeous - very sexy with a figure to die for IMO - a refreshing change to the stick thin lollipop heads than seem to be everywhere!

does anyone else want to make her hold her head upside down and fluff her hair up a bit? for someone with nice hair I think she has it cut and styled horribly. It's all flat plastic waves and needs a good shake. (but most long hair is like that these days. maybe I;m just old fashioned)

Didn't want to rip her appearance totally to shreds, but have to agree - hair is awful. Looks greasy and plastered down. She is very attractive and doesn't need all the false stuff - flouncing manner or beauty cheats.

I like her recipes (made rocky road crunch yesterday) but she does over describe stuff IYKWIM. It annoys me slighly.
On the whole she is fine, and I like that she obviously eats.

High point for me this week was the staged phone call from the friend who'd supposedly just been dumped, providing a golden opportunity for Nigella to whip up some of chocolate cookies. Cut to said friend stuffing a cookie into her gob, fake tears rolling down her cheeks, wimpering "I knew he wasn't right for me... but your chocolate cookies are!"

Hilarious.

For what it's worth, I think she is sending herself up & essentially making a sort of culinary comedy show. I don't think she takes herself as seriously as her viewers seem to.

In this series she looks at the camera every so often, her eyes widen, & she looks a bit mad or something ....

But I still really like her. She loves her food and she really eats (she's a bit of a pig really - I can identify with that)

And she may be married to a millionaire but she's still down to earth (don't believe she ever uses public transport either though!).

I used to pass her alot in the King's Road - the bit near M&S and Waitrose. She was usually dressed all in black, sometimes with a tightly cinched tan mac over her clothes, and almost always in black MBTs. She's quite short in real life.

How old are her dc now?

I can never understand how she doesnt get loads of hairs in her recipes as she never ties it back! I do like her though
